OT: So Jetsy: Jamal Adams Demands a Trade

Sure, now.
Then. Now. Forever. Never thought a team in which Adams was the best player was ever going to do anything. I would not have been able to accept the Cowboys offer last year fast enough.

Him being the missing piece on an already good team, different story. He'll look fine.
If you were a high profile free agent, would you even consider going to da Jete?
No, but that answer has never changed.

Somewhat true, but Adams is the type of rare player who consistently inspires teammates and fans with his nonstop effort.

I'm happy with the trade, but dude is really freakin good.

Seattle didn’t trade two first rd picks without Adams already agreeing to an extension, this money will take Seattle out of the Clowney sweepstakes.

Clowney to the Pats on a one year prove it deal would be interesting.

Interesting to see what BB would do with his talent.

While I’d welcome him with open arms, (while trying not to injure him :D) I believe he’s going to TEN, BAL or NO.

I might be biased as to his overall worth since he's never made an impact play against the Patriots in his entire career thus far. We are not counting the pity Pick 6 Stidham gave him last year.

If he can neutralize Kittle does Seattle go to the Super Bowl instead of San Fran in 2021/2022? If yes, the 2 1st rounders are worth it.

I'm having real-life issues coping with not having an authentic Jets Suck thread

Last two 1st round picks by SEA (not counting 2020) were Collier & Penny.
Last two Jets bottom of 1st/top of 2nd rd picks: Maye & Lee. Devin Smith & Pryor before that.
(not to mention Geno & Hack)

Now tell me again Adams or XY all-pro was overcompensated..

& btw: BB can erase Mack, Von, CJ.. - never could erase JA (despite busted play here and there always made impact throughout the game..making plays, dictating D..)

btw 2: Adams = #6 pick = 1660 p = 2x #21

I think the Jets made a wise move. They got a lot of value in return for a guy who clearly wasn't going to stay long term and clearly wasn't terribly happy.

I like the fact that Adams is now in the NFC West, but I hate the haul the Jets got...1,1,3 and a safety....

The 1 year “prove it” deal only makes sense when the player has something to prove. Don’t think Clowney has much to prove. Only way it makes sense is due to the financial uncertainty this year. Though, teams not likely to be spending heavily next year either.

Wonder if he would be interested in a 2 year deal that lets him try again post-COVID. Pats could afford to backload into next year.

My 2 cents:

1. Adams was the best player the Jets have drafted in the last 20 years. He's better than Kam Chancellor. Just because he played for the Jets doesn't negate that fact. Yes he IS that good.

2. That being said I am AMAZED that the Jets were able to get THAT much from Seatle.

3. Clearly the Jets and Adams were at a breaking point, especially after his outburst about Gase and Douglas the other day. The Jets HAD to move him. Common sense would make us think that his recent outburst would have LOWERED his trade value since it was clear that the Jets HAD to move him. So you have to wonder if there were some other teams in the running for Adams which moved the market up. It will be interesting to see if some rumors of other teams making offers for Adams surface over the next few weeks.

4. I think it was a good move by Seattle. Their first round picks over the next 2 years are likely to be in the mid 20's or worse. They are putting together what looks to be a pretty strong team on both sides of the ball. They are in a very competitive division, but they should be a contender over the next 2 years.

5. That being said, Joe Douglas should get some credit for salvaging a very bad situation and winding up with a lot more that what people thought would be a reasonable trade of Adams. But in the short term this will hurt the Jets. Gase is likely gone by the end of this season unless they make the playoffs. That's great for Douglas, because then he finally gets to pick his own HC, and gets significant draft capital to continue the 10 year rebuilding program the Jets seem to be in the midst of.

6. If Douglas is as an astute a draft picker as he was in maximizing a diminishing asset, this trade will EVENTUALLY work out for the Jets. We shall see.

And Bill the GM only managed a second round pick for a top 10 starting quarterback......

He actually has a lot to prove. He’s injury prone and disappears more than David Copperfield. He didn’t have a very good year with the Seahawks and wasn’t that great in Houston while having one of the best DE’s in the game on the other side.

The idiot was lucky enough some dumb team like the Browns offered him a one year $18M deal and he rejected it. Another team I can’t remember offered $17M. The guy is flat out delusional thinking he deserves in the $20M range. Nobody is investing multiple years for this guy.
