OT: So Jetsy: Jamal Adams Demands a Trade

Didn’t know this..

Jamal Adams and JJ Watt are the only players in NFL history with 200+ tackles, 10+ sacks & 25+ PBU within their first 3 seasons.
This is interesting but for one of them, the injuries started in year four and has not stopped after getting paid.
For the Jets, I don't know if they should celebrate or not, take a look at their recent First rounders. Do you know where they are? Clue, not with the Jets.

Jamal Adams
Darron Lee
Leonard Williams
Calvin Pryor
Sheldon Richardson

But this was very foolish by Seahawks.
Jets deal Jamal Adams and 4th-round pick in 2022 To Seattle,

in exchange for:

Bradley McDougald (safety), 1st-round pick in 2021, 3rd-round pick in 2021, and 1st-round pick in 2022,

Oh look, the Jets rebuilding for the future.

Where have I heard this before?
Da Jete will have to hope the GM is as good at the picks as he is at the politics.

As above, the owners aren't gonna spend, they cut the budget.

Say what you will about Krafty Bob and his fondness for aging Asian ladies, but he keeps the team well funded.

The Jete rebuild looks to be at least two years in the future.

End of this year Gaze is gone and Leveon Bell and is big salary is gone, GM gets to pick his own coach and use the extra pick.

Chances are they will still suck but the GM will get one more year after that to make the other pick.

Then they will still suck because they're da Jete, and everyone gets fired, and they start all over again.

Darnold will be signed long term but by then he'll be on his 4th head coach and within a year the new regime will cut him.

The thing some people don't seem to realize is with the rookie salary structure they need the player to be a solid starter or they're overpaying.

Good player... But man, Seattle gave up as much for a ss as the Bears gave up for Khalil Mack

might work out for both teams though... seattle has done a piss poor job in the first round of the draft over the past few years...

This is misleading. Jets had a great run of drafting dlinemen. They'd let the dudes walk before paying them and fill in with some other young stud.

Reche Caldwell thinks Adam Gase's eyes are *****d up.

Right, so they keep spending draft capital mainly on D-line with players that are gonna want to cash in after their first contract, while the rest of the team (in particular O-line) is lousy. The Jete simply don't understand resource allocation.

Interesting quote: Jamal Adams trade will make or break Jets GM Joe Douglas
Meanwhile, Douglas, who engaged in Adams trade conversations at the deadline last season, collected more lottery tickets at the expense of the 2020 Jets. If he can nail those picks, he’ll be rightfully lauded. If not, he just let a 24-year-old superstar on a Hall of Fame track out of the building.

Either way, it’s going to be a slow build for the Jets.
It'd be fun to know what Leveon Bell is thinking about all of this.

Yeah oline was crap. Hopefully fixed now upgrading 4 spots.

Those nine players are:

Mekhi Becton (who knows?)
Quinnen Williams (Slight disappointment so far)
Sam Darnold (Jury is out)
Jamal Adams (The league treats him like a star - I respectfully disagree)
Darron Lee (Sucks)
Leonard Williams (Not a star)
Calvin Pryor (Not an NFL Player)
Dee Milliner (Injured immediately)
Sheldon Richardson (Not a star)

(The next three after that: Quinton Coples, Muhammad Wilkerson, Kris Wilson)

The tweet made it sound like the Jets were drafting stars left and right but not retaining them, rather than drafting and developing poorly and resulting in players not worth treating like stars.

I'd like to make fun of the Adams trade, but I would have gotten him out of there for half that haul.

Looks like Bell feels he was wronged:

Oh well, either way he gets paid.

I was thinking of this earlier but Seattle has 3 of the best shallow defenders in the game now in Adams, Wright & Wagner.
That's quite the trio to deploy in the MOF-Swallow parts of the field. In a division with Shanahan, McVay & KK. Clear emphasis on that part of the field. MOF-Seam-Low Hole.

They should be a fun watch.

Sure, now.

The story goes that Adams was the ideal Jete the end of last season, the GM said he was going to bring him a proposal for an extension but the owner wouldn't let him spend the money, and it's all down hill from there.

And the picks are really just lottery tickets, they might cash in, they might go bust, but the one thing for sure is they totally mismanaged this situation.

If you were a high profile free agent, would you even consider going to da Jete?
