Yes. I can't recall the last G that took over games for a team. G are always replaceable but keep him until you can't.Even if he goes to a AFC East team?

Keep/re-sign Thuney, and sh!t-can Shack Mason after this season when his dead $ hit is much more palatable...unless he agrees to a massive pay cut.Keep him this year and then let him walk. O-line was a weakness last year so keep everyone while you can...
Cannon is signed through 2021I would keep Thuney this year to maintain the strongest OLine possible for Newton/Stidham to perform behind ? Hopefully some of the fringe players will show enough at camp to take over next year (Could we be loosing Thuney and Cannon next year?)
We might be losing Cannon this year, never mind next year, if any of Cachoo, ElManure or OneMenu performs better than him during TC & pre-season...It looks like we would save nearly $6M by doing just that:I would keep Thuney this year to maintain the strongest OLine possible for Newton/Stidham to perform behind...Hopefully some of the fringe players will show enough at camp to take over next year (Could we be losing Thuney and Cannon next year?)
Normally, I'd agree, but the exception to that would be a trade for a player in a similar situation. So if the Pats believe Frodholt, Cajuste, or Elumanur showed even the possibility of adequately replacing Thuney in TC, I'd ship him off in a NY minute (there will be a pun there that will become apparent shortly. ) in a man to man swap for Leonard Williams DT NYGNobody is going to trade anything of value for a RG that is owed over 14 million on a 1 year contract and that can not sign an extension.
Thuney isn't going anywhere.
We won’t pay him what he wants and could go in the AFC East would rather control his destinationWhat am I missing isn't he a really good player, and an important piece of our OLine puzzle? Not sure why we would want to trade him. Is it that guards are not that important in the big picture?
And keep him out the Division is BBs biggest concern.Assuming Thuney is traded. Is there a rule where his new team cant franchise him in 2021?
Moreover, the Pats would trade Thuney to a team that he wants to play for. A team with lots of cap space. While Thuneys new contract is not etched in ink as of yet, the conditions are all in place to get a deal done.
I don’t want to see him ride off in the sunset with the Jets or Phins I say either pay up or trade him control where he goes.
Also if we resign him I am sure this years cap hit will be lower than the $15 mil he is getting nowNo need to trade. We have the cap room to manage this season with the 7 mil credit.
I agree. They paid Mason way too early and they should kick him to the curb if they can only keep one G.Keep/re-sign Thuney, and sh!t-can Shack Mason after this season when his dead $ hit is much more palatable...unless he agrees to a massive pay cut.
Shaq Mason.
Not a bad point... provide the best possible OL with which to evaluate your QBs. You'll learn more about Newton and Stidham this year behind this line than you would behind a weaker one. Next year, they will be more informed regarding whether Newton deserves a long-term deal, or whether Stidham is actually the real deal, etc.I would keep Thuney this year to maintain the strongest OLine possible for Newton/Stidham to perform behind ? Hopefully some of the fringe players will show enough at camp to take over next year (Could we be loosing Thuney and Cannon next year?)

Too late, unfortunately. Also if we resign him I am sure this years cap hit will be lower than the $15 mil he is getting now
