out of all the most commonly listed top 10 quarterbacks across the Internet, he has the worst win % by far. Next would be Marino with .613%

and before anyone says anything about how bad his defenses have been, I get it. The ones in the middle 2010’s were terrible. But that’s the price you pay when you take up so much of the salary cap, and throw the ball around all over a dome a minimum 9 times a year. You’re going to get in shootouts.

The Brees crap is way worse than the Rodgers crap IMO. At least Rodgers could make amazing highlight plays.

Brees will be hyped up until a few years after he retires and then lumped into the top 15-20. His “do or die” play the last three postseasons has been abysmal and laughable.

Right.
There is no question who is the GOAT. Just a matter of figuring out who else belongs towards the top of the list. I've always had Starr and Unitas there.

If you look at this one particular statistic, it's not insignificant. But, clearly of the top ten in this stat, only Unitas belongs on any list of those right behind Brady.

There are probably half a dozen other stats with a lot of "really good QB's but only one or two that belong ranked near Brady.

My Father always said that Johnny Unitas was the best QB of all time.

Yes, the game was not as complex as today and yes the players were smaller, not as strong and slower. BUT there was no roughing the passer. You could level the QB during the play and no penalty would be called. QBs were open game back in those days.

Johnny U called his own plays too.

A few things...

-No doubt Johnny U was one of the best ever. One might argue if you are going solely in comparison with players life the era, he has an argument.

-Calling one’s own plays was not unique for a QB during that timeframe. Other contemporaries did the same thing, including Bart Starr. The media has hyped up Unitas in the same way they hyped up P. Manning, who also didn’t actually do more than other elite QBs.

-Unitas fell off the second half of his career and choked a lot of games away. Those Colts teams were absolutely stacked like the Packers, but they got blown out a lot despite being heavy favorites in the postseason. Had Unitas played really well, we might be talking about the Colts, not the Packers, as the team with all the talent and one of the great dynasties ever. One year Earl Morrall came in for an injured Johnny U and went on to be MVP.

Unitas was injured more than Starr during those days. I remember the Colts having to use a FB (?) as QB due to injuries to the top 2 QB's. A;so the Packers were far more run oriented a team, having 3 HOF players in the backfield.
