Waiting on the contract details.

Jeez that's a long contract. I bet that year 1 cap hit is teeny tiny and the year 10 cap hit is ridiculous.

What's the guaranteed money? That's all that matters

It will be $400M.

If he signed with the Pats, this board would be like:

"well....there's no guarantee he starts".

"He's never played in this system".

"Can he beat out Hoyer and Stidum"?

"He has to earn his spot on the team".

"Is he humble"?

I was speculating they would give him a 10 year deal. My guess is it's 400-500 with 40-50M up front and another 50-60 after the first 5 years to active the second half of the deal. There's probably some provisions where Mahomes can walk after 5 years as well if QBs are getting a lot more than that on an annual basis by then.

Reminder: signing bonuses can only be pro-rated over five years.

That can't be pro-rated.

Once we know the details, Dak will know where his value isn't.

TFW the contract you got Cam Newton on is currently less than 1% of the value of Patrick Mahomes' contract

Good for Mahomes hope he spends it wisely

What a **** job by Schefy too. What's the details bro??

He went pop last year.

That situation just got tougher.

Watson is waiting to hear #"s ...

Lamar ...
I think it actually helps set a ceiling. Now teams know what number not to go anywhere near for Dak and DeShaun.

Lamar's too early.

let's hope 50 million per year lol

The reality is it probably doesn’t effect them. Mahomes is unique so 10 years is a risk worth taking. Those guys will be willing to bet on themselves for a short time frame

I wonder if Mahomes & his agent decided it best to strike now, before anyone shows up to camp based on the virus and its effect on (1) having a season (2) the salary cap lowering...

I’m not sure this is the year I’d want my salary dependant on the cap. The league will not make as much profit in 2020 as it has in the past.

That can't be pro-rated.

I don't remember how it was structured in terms of type of bonus but Gronk essentially has some sort of mid contract bonus that activated the second half of the contract. Probably a roster bonus and I'm not sure if that all went against one year of if it was spread out across the second half during the remaining years.
