GOAT QB discussions must include Johnny U.

This is some dumb logic. Nothing like data mining to ensure your QB is #1. Of course it is pretty funny that the GOAT QB is right behind Unitas even with this mickey mouse criteria.

As before, a touchdown qualifies as a game-winning touchdown if all of the following four criteria are met:

  • It occurs in the 4th quarter or in overtime;
  • The scoring team was not winning prior to the touchdown
  • The scoring team was winning after the touchdown, including the extra point1; and
  • If the touchdown (plus point after) gave the winning team more points than the losing team scored all game. So if a team is down 21-17 and scores a touchdown to go ahead 24-21, and that team ultimately wins 31-27, that does not count as a game-winning touchdown. But if they win 31-21, it does.

Who do you want in the fourth quarter of the SB ? I want 2014 Brady. I want 1989 Montana. I want 2016 Brady.

The GOAT was decided Feb 5, 2017.

Too bad Brady was usually handing the ball off to run the clock out in most 4th quarters he played. Even then, he still has the second most.

If you're looking for top 10 or even top 5 Unitas deserves a look and there is certainly an argument for those exclusive categories.

But GOAT? No way!

1. Brady
2. Graham
3. Montana
4. Starr
5. Unitas
6. Manning
7. Staubach
8. Elway
9. Young
10. Rodgers

Yea that's pretty much the top 10 with one major omission I know most disagree with me on.

I swear it seems posters on this forum are the only ones who really appreciate Staubach. I never see him on top 10’s other than on here. Same with Starr also.
Too many fans are stat geeks and don't appreciate QBs who lead, win and manage games.

Being the consensus best QB of a decade is a feat that Saints fans wouldn’t appreciate.

I’ve posted on the NFL reddit multiple times about how Staubach and Starr are top 10 - I always welcome the downvotes that come

Starr is severely underrated. Staubach and Unitas also, to a lesser degree. I like the list though I think Marino belongs on a list of best-evers even if that drives it to 12 or 13 names. Hard to omit Favre & Brees too.

People are stupid.

Not saying George outplayed Elway at his peak but ....... yeah

Also threw one of the prettiest spirals ever.

Elway needed a RB to put him in the HOF :evil:

I agree. I would trade Young or Rodgers for Marino. He was the Peyton Manning of the 80's. I know Manning won two championships, but I think Marino would have won in those situations too.

And I would move Staubach and even maybe Elway above Manning.
