Antonio Brown to Tampa?

James White is going to benefit tremendously from playing with Cam Newton, IMO.

Just curious, but why would we think that?

Brady's reads and touch on the shorter throws are far superior to Newton's.

The D has to be set up to stop the run with Cam, leaving more space for White. Also he should have some RPOs with Cam.

Tampa says they are not interested in signing him . Doubt he plays football anytime soon even if there is a season.

I don't know if either Bill or McD want to see their 30-year-old QB, returning from a Lisfranc injury, running too many RPOs...or running too much at all...

Why would he be a 3rd wheel substitute? He'd be their best WR, even with Mike Evans on the team.

Because you've got two stud receivers and he's unreliable.

Brady is going to rely on Evans and Godwin. Case closed. The Bucs would be out of their minds to rely on Brown.

Sure, bring him on if he wants spot duty, but no way do you focus things around him.

So you didn't see that whole Brady and Brown thing that went down last year, then?

Bruce Arian's wouldn't piss on AB if he were on fire, and the Patriots won't get burned twice in the same spot.

Tampa Bay getting him would be overkill. There are only five guys on offense beyond the QB and OL. You already have Evans and Godwin, and most teams use a RB in the backfield. You have Brate and Howard.

Point being, I even wonder if Gronkowski was worth it at $9M. We've seen teams take two elite receivers and use the domino effect to make them incredibly dominant. If Gronk is dominating Gronk, then sure...but if he's that 70% Gronk that we saw in 2018, I think that was a short sighted move too. Already had very capable TEs.

With Antonio Brown, is the offense really that much better? I doubt it. And how many targets per game could he expect when Brady will already be throwing to Evans/Godwin 20+ times and to the TEs 10+ times.

The joke should be "Anyone know if TB trusts any of his new receivers except Gronk"?

That'll rile some emotions.

That's the whole reason I was responding. He is totally unreliable. He threatened to bring his friends down on a woman's children.

The amount of money at stake is in the hundreds of millions. No one is going to stake that much money on a colossal idiot when they have much better options.

It would be the sign of a horribly badly run organization if someone made him a focal point of the offense when they have very good options without him.

If you want to rate Moss/Welker as high than Evans/Godwin. That is at least defensible

But AB is so far ahead of Stallworth/Gaffney that its not even funny.

And we haven't even mentioned Gronk.

Or the fact that they are going to be facing defenses that are little better prepared than 2011 due to COVID.

Brady is 43 not 30, there is that. Gronk may or may not be the same sort of impact player when the bullets fly. We shall see.

Brady might be better at that, but I think your idea of Newton's strengths and weaknesses as a passer is off base. There was a video posted in another thread of a guy doing film study and the conclusion was that Cam is actually at his best as a short passer but coaches made him play a different kind of game most years.

He and McCaffrey had great chemistry; I see no reason why it wouldn't be similar with White.
