Spygate 2 penalties announced.

I’m angry about it just as I was the other “scandals”...especially because it was the Bungles in this case....worst team in league....Bill didn’t need any tape on them or Browns.....utter BS..

but because of the Crazed Mob that is every fan and employee of every other team than NE calling for death and destruction .... I was content with timing of verdict and what we had to give up......it could have been worse like a 1 or 2....but I think godell knew it wasn’t intentional....but still had to appease the raving “losers”!!!

That’s exactly why the 3rd was taken. The Bengals apparently weren’t the only team either that wanted a pound of flesh.

Pretty obvious by looking at exactly what the penalty is that the video was completely the activity of Kraft Sports and the league has acknowledged it. Would be nice if they actually said it publicly but that won’t happen. And it won’t stop the haters from saying what they want but nothing would anyway.

I still think “spygate “ was a big pile of steaming Horse####.....!!!! Ridiculous.

QUOTE="A Defiant Goose, post: 5913205, member: 36668"]I really don't care and tbh after Spygate this team gets no leeway for anything camera related. They should be so far away from cameras that their players don't even do the SNF opening drive introductions.

Be glad it wasnt a 1st or 2nd and nobody got suspended.[/QUOTE]

Just waiting on what penalty the Ravens get for their illegal taping

Yeah what the heck happened to this ?! If we had done this loss of 2 first rounders, BB suspended and 3 mill fine.....seriously WTF?! We need some calls put in to Clown Nose!!!

I said above that this whole thing is pushing me from the NFL, but between this (and the larger NFL witch hunt against the Pats), Covid delays, and trying to get my fiance into American football, it almost seems like it's not worth it. Who the hell knows? I love the Pats and was excited about a possible season, to see what Stidham Newton Eason(?) Newton/Sitdham(?) can do, but I'm just sick of the stupid ****.

Trollin is an absolute clown.

The fine of $1.1 million don’t mean much. Losing a third-round pick hurts, but it doesn’t feel excessive given the Patriots’ cheating history.

What to make of the Patriots signing Cam Newton and getting slapped with penalties - The Boston Globe
**** this guy...seriously...I actually wish somebody would tear off Trolin's eyes and skull-**** him to death...right after Mortensen gets his...and Johnny Ton-asse, I almost forgot that disgusting snake ...if a big, fat pile of poo can become a snake that is...

The NFL sure did pick weird timing to announce this, though.

Seems like most people are more focused on us signing Cam. It’s already off front page headlines. Maybe they just want to move on since they didn’t find much?

The fact that this thread is only 6 pages long proves that Patriots fans are finally over the fake “cheating“ talk and most of the general public doesn’t seem to care anymore either.

You think the other 31 owners have had their pound of flesh yet? This “scandal” was yet another bit of dumb overblown, media-driven nonsense from the get-go.

Ridiculous. I hate the NFL.

Florio: The league nevertheless whacked the Patriots, presumably because of their history — and possibly because (as one source with another team opined to PFT) certain league officials don’t like the Patriots and/or their head coach.

Gee... you don’t say.

cheating history....all teams have a cheating history and most of ours is crap brought on by league officials in ny that are still pissed at bb about the jets and the pats constant winning.

Still waiting for the NFL to release a statement explaining the logic behind this bogus penalty.

The monetary penalty is fine.
The draft choice penalty is ridiculous.

However, it is beyond insane that the team didn't tell those Patriots Video Group bozos to go get permission from both teams, regardless of technically only needing permission from the home team. And that they didn't give them a detailed briefing on the filming rules.

Talk about classic bootstrapping.

Oh yeah of course it's not fair or anything to do with football, but you have to consider that a few years back, once you reverse the readings of two gauges and pay a consultant to railroad them, the Pats look like they did something terrible and evil about inflating footballs--after which we were going to test all the PSIs everywhere but when did you last hear that they were ever checked? And the Pats had to pay a heavy price for "more likely than not" (based in part on assuming guilt and flipping those readings), based on their "spygate" punishment.

You know, because they did what every other team did, including the 'phins using purchased fan video of the Patriots in December 06...Report says Dolphins bought tape of Brady

Look, we're the Iron Sheikh or something from professional wrestling, only he didn't have the belt most of the time, and we did have the ring (a lot).

If you're a Patriots fan you know all this, or should know it. This team has had a target on its back since the end of the 2000s.

Celebrate guys, we're in our third decade of league collusion against us. That's gotta mean you're doing something right. Trying to put that stake in the heart, in case the Pats can march on even after the loss of TB12.

The 3rd stinks but that there was anyone from the Kraft Inc or the Pats filming the Cinci sideline, is insane. It never should have happened.

Isn’t it reassuring to know that at a time where the Pats are demonstrating they really need an influx of fresh talent through the draft that they won’t have their third round pick this year...only because someone in the organization thought it was no big deal to point a fcking camera at another team’s sideline during a game?

Bill must be real thrilled about that right now. It’s not like he needs all the draft picks he can get. Nah.

Kraft Productions is on a roll. An early bird $15 *, releasing Antonio Brown (aka Brady’s lifeline with the team), and then this awesome taping incident.

They were contractors and they had permission from the Browns (I think it was) to film in their stadium.

You can't blame them for the overreaction from the League. The penalty does not fit the crime. Unfortunately, there's no higher authority they can appeal to.

Also, the Pats have 11 picks next next year not counting compensatory picks. While the punishment stings, it's not the end of the world.

I don't blame the league for giving an automatic penalty to the Patriots.

But if they're going to investigate the crap out of the team, they should announce whatever findings they have. I don't believe they ever even released a statement. Their penalties would appear to someone without knowledge of the situation to show the Patriots were guilty of extreme cheating, but to people familiar with the investigation (and looking at past precedents) this is clear indication that the taping was not intentional and that extensive investigating confirmed this.

But what else to expect from the Ted Wells crew.
