I care..don't like players on the team I root for to be d-bags

I guess a scum bag elitist prick of an owner (in practice, idgaf what the pr team puts together for him) doesn't stop you?

Due process and procedural legalities only matter if your family has generational wealth to throw at a legal team, right?

Exactly. There’s nothing to suggest he’s any more than a Mallett/Hoyer/Etling type. All options were on the table

Except that he had the best preseason of any Patriots first year QB under Belichick -- and a far better preseason than Mallett ever had.

All I know, is he’s gonna love Sweet Feet.

Just here for the « oh snap ».

Also, nobody is saying/will say this; but Cam’s football IQ is nothing to sneeze at. No Brady (obviously), but still relatively underrated.

Why didn't we get our future QB the last 3 years? That is the real question for BB.

You're not much of a BB mind reader.

He offered Brady what he thought he was worth to the team and let him walk BEFORE the draft, and didn't make any attempt to land a QB in the draft, and made no attempt to sign a veteran QB until Cam agreed to a rock bottom price.

Your explanation: BB is a drooling idiot who bungled the negotiation with Brady and then was paralyzed by his idiocy until this week.

Better explanation: BB doesn't think a 43 year old Brady is worth $30+ mm. He likes what he has seen privately from Stidham, and is happy to add Cam to the competitive mix. He now has two QB's with franchise upside and has mitigated his Stidham downside risk.

BB may be wrong about all that, but your explanation of his psychology is not credible.

Bob is not a player...I don't root for Kraft

there have been plenty of d-bags in this team during the course of this run. there also plenty of d-bag fans

Bob is not a player...I don't root for Kraft

Dubious distinction, given Kraft is the player's employer, and team success quite obviously translates to success for Kraft far more directly than team success equates to individual player success.

If you dropped the second "m" from your handle, it would atleast provide us some warning.

Considering your take was that this would never happen, pardon us if we just think you're FOS.
Had I known newton would sign for the vet minimum I would have been the first one to predict it.
Those thinking making him take the minimum indicates they think he is the answer are the ones FOS.

He only has to tuck it once or twice a game to keep things on tape and keep the end/spy honest. BB/McD don't care about saving mileage for years to come and Cam will be looking to prove his worth. Even if he was explicitly told to avoid hits, he'll be looking to make plays with his body to prove he still has "it." I highly doubt we see a repeat of the SB fumble shy-away, less the Pats pull a Jest impersonation and are only playing for draft position after week 10. Frankly, if thats the case, it may very well be because Cam got dinged and Stidham is struggling.

An athlete at qb changes everything for the defense. Concussed or not, Cam certainly still qualifies as "an athletic qb."
You think earning the vet minimum will cause him to act more like an unselfish team player than playing in the SB would? Interesting take.

You prove that it exists. You are the white fragility poster boy described by DiAngelo.
Yeah you couldn’t be further from the truth.

I offered to let you borrow my copy. There's actually a chapter where she doesn't use Andy Johnson or Ring6, but wait for it, she drops the name Phil in an example of a white fragility dude. I immediately thought of you.

that answer is easy....bb wasn’t going to waste a draft pick on one as long as tompa was here

When faces with the very real potential of not getting another contract to play out, yes. Nevermind the chip on his shoulder from not receiving offers. Disproving doubt can be a hell of a motivator. Disproving doubt when literally tens of millions are at stake? Disproving doubt when tens of millions are at stake and 31 teams apparently didn't feel he was worthy of back-up money, let alone starter money on a one year flyer? He's going to be motivated or he'll be out of the league.

Cam has arrived in Mass...

I can see some scrambles... I'll cringe if they run the option

If he couldn’t be motivated in a SB it’s hard to imagine having to retire a multi millionaire would change that.
