Is that best LB class ever? It just hit me and I'm scrambling to think but LK, David, Wagner & Hightower are all borderline or HOF types. Like all 4 imo are worthy. HT being the shaky case but man what a force. Definitely Pats HOF.

Stats aren't everything but they matter. I really don't care about tackles except for solo and even those aren't the end all, be all. Stats closer to the los tell a story of an impact player imo. Both below are definitely that but I think people might be surprised to see the names side by side. They were in my scale as well.

David
Player A - 11 INT - 21 FF / 14 FR - 22.5 Sacks - 116 TFL - 52 QB Hits

LK
Player B - 18 INT - 7 FF / 9 FR - 12.5 Sacks - 75 TFL - 31 QB Hits.

I think this class has to be considered great.

Yeah, truly an outstanding class. Hightower will be a tough one. The guy is a force out there, but isn't super hot on the stat sheet. I don't believe Pro Bowls tell you much about a player's quality, but HOF voters seem to love it and he's only got two, plus one 1st team All-Pro and two 2nd team All-Pro. He contributed a huge game-saving play in two separate Super Bowl wins. It'll be close, but he could get it.

Pats HOF, without a doubt!

81 (LT, Jackson & Singletary)

96 (Lewis, Thomas, Tedy & Hardy)

Still think 12 compares favorably. I'd definitely take it > 96. 81 is tough.

Maybe 2012 pales when comparing the top end talent. It's going to take a lot to beat out LT or Ray "Killed a Guy" Lewis. That depth though, you go 12 - 14 players down that LB list and you're still finding guys like Danny Travathian and Mychal Kendricks.

Yeah that's the thing, pretty crazy depth. No one is touching LT but I think LK & Lewis are a lot closer than some might think. Especially when you talk about crossing over from different eras.

I'm still impressed with what David has done. After this year he'll either have hit the QB, sacked the QB or had a TFL 200 + times in his career. Again very impressive imo.

2018 is looking good too. Smith, Warner, Leonard, Baker, LVE, Evans ... Not bad at all.

Looking over past drafts it's amazing how just how great the 2011-2012 classes were.

Speaking of 2018 LBs, I contend that we would've had better production from the much more highly-decorated and universally much higher-regarded Micah Kiser than the plodding, UDFA-talent JaWrong Bentley...what say you?

Honestly I think Kiser would've seen limited snaps up until now but who knows? He was a very smart player in college. Really smart, quick thinker. On & off the field.

I'll admit the Bentley pick kinda surprised me a little but he was very good year 1 & I didn't think he was bad last year personally. From what I saw with his small sample size.

You really don't like him?

Not where he was taken, no...and never ahead of Kiser, or even Genard Avery or Leon Jacobs... and his professional production has been as under-whelming as that of Elandon Roberts...but at least Roberts had more athletic ability than this guy, as do the above-mentioned.

Say what you want but Chandler Jones, DMC, Gronk will all be in or get HOF consideration. Hightower is on the next tier. Very good, not great player that was pivotal in some big games. Outstanding pick.

I wonder how many other GMs have or possibly have multiple HOFs under the belt? Genuinely curious.

Just think how productive that 2010 class could've been had Billy done the obvious thing and chosen the Charlie Weis-trained & top 40-talent Golden Tate instead of the Urban Meyer buddy-solid & top 140-talent Germy Cunnyham...

Yea but all this picks up until that point I could understand.

It's Taylor F'n Price that gets me a decade late. NaVorro Bowman went the next pick. Jimmy Graham a few later but we got Hernandez right after that.

Everson Griffen was also there as well as Geno Atkins ... in the 4th :crying:

That was a funny draft I'm going to look at it again when I have time but a lot of potential HOF players out there late. Antonio Brown 6th round. Atkins 4th. Kam Chancellor

Reshad Jones and Greg Hardy two others although nowhere near HOF.

Great class.
