Spygate 2 penalties announced.

Explain exactly why you think this is so...
Whether it’s warranted or not, this is now the 3rd time the league has cracked down on them.

If this was on Bill we would’ve been hit with at least a 1 probably more picks and he would’ve been suspended.

Look at the bright side, at least we won't violate the filming rules this year. Maybe the NFL should say "no video for Patriots for 10 years" so we can avoid this :D

that has nothing at all to do with what I asked YOU to produce. How in the world can anything be warranted on a person with ZERO culpability or knowledge of an occurrence to be responsible for it? Do you understand your implication?

At least that.

This and the penalty banning the video crew and requiring training for them tells me the league agrees that there was no connection to the team. League would never admit it though.

These penalties are ridiculous. If it was the Giants, the league would force the Bengals to publicly apologize. The Pats have become easy fodder for that stoge Goodell to show what a spineless incompetent stuffed suit really looks like.

But it could have been worse. I'm a little surprised they didn't take a first, knowing how incompetent and New York biased the league office is And I don't think it's a coincidence the Pats signed Newtown today. They'll let him back-up Stidham, fill in for a game or two, and let him sign elsewhere next year to regain the 3rd.

And in the spirit of the pandemic that is shutting down unnecessary businesses everywhere, I hope the Pats have the good sense to shut down Kraft Productions once and for all.

Was there a single person anywhere that doubted that the Clown College of Park Avenue would apply the usual double standards to the Pats? The idea that they may actually give an entire segment of their dwindling fan base another reason to “Walk Away” almost certainly never occurred to them; no surprise from a group that needed a season’s worth of data to convince them of the validity of one of the most basic principles of science. To paraphrase Seinfeld: “If there's a [group of fans] that can take your presence for more than ten consecutive seconds, you should hang on to her like grim death. Which is not far off, by the way.”

Love the Seinfeld reference

This team can't catch a break.

F the NYFL! They really had to wait till the Pats signed Cam to announce this? The timing reeks. I really can't stand it.

always the revisionist history buffs with their capitulation speeches ready to roll. BB had ZERO....NOTHING to do with this travesty. Get educated completely on a subject matter before you make these proclamations

Bill Belichick Fires Off After Patriots Admit Breaking NFL Rules | Heavy.com

OK correct the admission came from the Patriots organization not BB.
BB does not bear responsibility but Jonathan and Bob Kraft do.
So the penalty is still understandable as "the organization" admitted it broke the rules.

More angry at Kraft and anyone elss in the organization who was aware of this for letting it happen. Given our history, there is no excuse for not considering the potential issue and preventing it.

This is ******** simple as that

Should of been no penalty
Nah that fine for Kraft was warranted.

At the end of the day HE should’ve known better. I’d be furious if I were a player/coach.

I mean I get the "we should've known better" , "our reputation" arguments a little but **** isn't the league responsible for tarnishing our rep if we're being 100% fair?
I personally think Bill will push, look to manipulate & so on when it comes to rules. So he's no angel but nothing close to a cheater from what I've seen. Everyone is doing exactly that. You should be.
The league has gone above & beyond when it comes to our punishments though. Esp this one. A million + fine is nothing to RK but the amount is unwarranted imo. This is a "give charity 250k" type of fine and AT WORST, a 7th rounder. At worst. A 3rd round pick is absolutely insane!

We're losing a top 100 pick bc ...

Yeah this doesn't sit well with me at all. In terms of action/consequence this is as bad as it gets imo.

Didn't the Broncos lose a 3rd rounder for cheating their way to 2 super bowls?

Sick and tired...

$50K fine
No loss of draft pick
Patriots' TV crew must have league staff present to ensure rule compliance for all future filming endeavors

That seems reasonable and provides a positive, proactive way to address the misunderstanding in good faith.

If the team has any legal recourse, in terms of something in the CBA that allows them to recoup the draft pick assuming ironclad, objective evidence that the football operations staff had 0 to do with this, they absolutely should pursue that given the current state of affairs, COVID-caused slow offseason and so forth.
