No matter the outcome...Stidham has to start the entire 2020 season. Then decide.

Yea, i'll be so mad if they trot Hoyer out there as our starter... Hoyer is a career backup, a great mentor for Stidham, but they need to figure out if Stidham has "it" enough to be the leader of this team going forward or if we need to keep searching

Playing Hoyer would be a total waste of time, he won't bring us to a Superbowl and he's older, so he has no long term future here.

You live or die with Stidham, assess his ability, and then make some decisions

What about the other option.... I don't think he's worth a number one pick?

What makes you think Trevor Lawrence is a lock to be the next superstar?

How do you know his career trajectory won’t mimic Ryan Leaf or JaMarcus Russell?

Would you tank for JaMarcus? Lose for Leaf?

Just not the same. Russell was drafted off his last 4-5 games, looks and his arm. Also Al had lost his whole mind by then.

Leaf never completed 56% and was a headache on & off the field.

Lawrence was been the best hs prospect every year he player and one of the best QBs in college since day 1. Won the natty. His hype is flattening out but he's still a fantastic prospect.

Point is that even fantastic prospects are not a sure thing. So what if you tank and he flops?

Plus there is the other side of the coin, that no untested prospect is certain to fail. We are coming off a fantastic run with the guy picked 199th in his draft class turning out to be a GOAT performer and people still don’t get it? Already writing Stidham off? It’s an insult to him and his coaches. SMH.

Am I down on Stidham. I expect him to be a better than average 4th round QB, in his second year, with no NFL reps. Perhaps, because the patriot offense is so talented, he might be as good as the average 3rd rounder.

As opposed to the that 6th round pick behind Bledsoe that was going to be as good as your average 5th round pick?

I hope Stidham doesn't mind throwing to average 7th rounder Julian Edelman.

1 year of pain for possibly 10+ years of glory? Weigh in. Would you Tank for the best QB prospect in next year's NFL Draft?

I suppose now that Brady is gone we can join the 24 other teams who dont have an elite QB and post “Tank for XYZ” every year

I don't really know how to respond to a post like this bc it doesn't make sense.

You brought up two bad examples and I explained how they didn't make sense.

No prospect is a sure thing, that's a given. No one is disputing or suggesting otherwise.

And I was watching Stid before anyone here knew his name. Had him pegged as a PTP a year before the draft. I'm actually excited to see what he brings.

I hate when Patriots fans get sucked in to stupid media narratives about our team.

We have arguably the best defense in football. That fact alone makes this "Abhorrence for Lawrence" narrative absurd. The non-Pat fan masses would love to see us humiliate ourselves with a tank job, so the media throws it out there like it's a possibility.

We aren't the Colts, with their Suck for Luck and drug-addled owner and stupid participation banners.

We should also understand that a football team does not dominate so thoroughly, year after year, by fostering a competitive culture that could tolerate a tank job. It would be an unforgivable betrayal of players and coaches who regularly outwork the rest of the league.

We lost our QB but we're still the Patriots, let's show some ****ing pride.
