Yes, I miss sports. Sports are awesome and a lot of fun and I miss them.
I thought that I'd feel the same way but I don't.

If you find one give me a shout out.
I play in the lower divisions, it is more relaxed and has limited HR's. The game is more strategic and team-based. and at 54 years old the I vcan still compete (they haven't pastured me to the senior league yet). The biggest tourney I played in was 74 teams, State tournament. One year we finished second in a 68 team State tourney against an out of state team, so in our minds we were the State Champs (LOL). The best part of our team is that there are 7 of us that have been on the team for all 19 years. Great friendships and fun times. I miss that more than anything else that is on hold due to Civid-19. But we are doing a weekly Zoom Happy Hour and trivia/ ******** sessions.Slow pitch softball was absolutely huge in the Boston area in the 80's-90's. When they'd have the Metro-Boston tourney there'd be 125 teams entered and the fields would be packed 5 deep with spectators/beer drinkers.
At the top level it became a home run hitting contest, even as they kept moving the fences out. I watched one game up in Peabody MA between a veteran team named Gartenhaus (perennial CT state champs) vs a young up-and-coming team named VIP Limo. VIP won the toss and you could see they were all excited. The first 8 batters for Gartenhaus hit homers and the game was well on it's way to a big blowout.
Animated shows and reruns, baby!I'll miss NFL (don't think it'll be back this year) but really only caught the other 3 majors flicking around channels.
Here's what I'll miss more... you guys do realize that all staged television, from SNL to your favorite sitcom to movies, require people to be together, indoors, right? I mean, they could do it on soundstages w/no audience, but you're still looking at a nightmare scenario. I think we might be in reruns with no new movies soon. I don't know. We're not talking about it... Imma google that, figure it out.
It might be a whole year of having to talk to our families. ***** that!

Competition can be a great thing when it brings out brother and sisterhood. For instance, the Olympics (without occasional nonsense) are a thing of beauty.Let's put football aside because they haven't been affected by the pandemic as much as the other sports. But I don't miss the rest of them.
NBA - I was starting to take more of an interest in the C's but that interest has faded away and I don't think it will ever come back.
NHL - The B's looked like they were on a roll and at first I was annoyed by the NHL's proposed playoff format. Now I don't care.
MLB - I stopped watching many years ago but I started to go to some games recently with my son. I won't be returning.
PGA - I've been working on the driving range at the pro tourney in Norton since I retired (has it really been 12 years?!?) and I'm scheduled to work it again in August. I'm leaning toward not going back.
I know the saying is you don't know what you missed until it's gone, but that doesn't apply at all now. I'm finding out instead that I don't miss them.
If baseball, basketball and football were to all fold up permanently, I'd probably breathe a sigh of relief.
My biggest disappointment is that my college basketball team in the reigning national champions and they have a really good team coming in to this year. They are one of the few bright lights in a college sports landscape that's dominated by fake "student" athletes and one-and-done mercenaries.
As the saying goes, "Teach A Young Child To Hate Duke."
What? You would breathe a sigh of relief if football folded up?!? As the top poster on this board - Numero Uno, The Big Enchilada, She Who Does Not Sleep (judging by your avatar) - you have to kidding.
That's like saying Elvis was not really all that into amphetamines.
I've been saying for years that I'm done when Brady's done. The NFL, as an entity, has driven me completely away from its future. The NFL, as the game, has become a parody of its former self.
