At the very least I expect better QB play this year than we got last year. Shouldn’t be that hard to do.

Are you serious or being sarcastic? I can't tell. I think we did not get good QB play last year. If fact I will go further to say it was a toxic environment for that offense just by the body languages alone.
Boy if you guys thought that we didn't see good QB play last year...

I'm sure I've missed or messed up a few in here and am open to correction, but, when we consider the dynastic or wannabe "dynastic" teams of the SB era, this is what we see between SB winning Seasons:

GBP: 1967--1996: 30 seasons
1996--2019: 24 seasons and counting
MIA: 1973--??? oops, 47 seasons and counting
KCC: 1969--2019 51 seasons. Was a big oops, but no longer "counting" after last year.
Colts (Bal and Indy): 1970--2006: 37 seasons
Colts: (Indy): 2006--2019: 14 seasons and counting
DAL: 1971--1977, 7 seasons
1977--1992, 16 seasons
1995--??? 25 seasons and counting
DEN: 1998--2015:18 seasons
PIT: 1979--2005: 27 seasons;
2008--20119: 12 seasons and counting
OAK: 1980--??? oops. 40 seasons and counting
RAMS: 1999--??? oops. 21 seasons and counting
WAS: 1991--??? oops, 29 seasons and counting

In other words, six SB wins in nine appearances in 20 seasons...not too ****ing bad.
You forgot the Packers' 2010 championship season...and we should've had At Least 4 more ourselves, so...

They've got another draft pick confiscation loaded up in the chamber in case we somehow shock the world :D

I am thinking be ready for horrendous, but somehow I believe in 10-6 and a playoff berth. I just do. Don't try to argue logically.

Also we probably won't have a season, I'm standing by that.

On your first point. Thanks. As I said in my post I probably missed some...surprised it's only one.
On your second point. Woulda, Shoulda, Coulda...I'm happy with six. And more than one of the six came down to a play or could have gone the other way. SB's are really hard to get to and really hard to win. Counting my blessings.

The NBA especially needs to let 2019 go. Whoever the Champion is won’t be taken seriously anyways.

With cases starting to rise, it will be impossible for NFL players not to contract the virus. It will be a s*** show when someone does.

And not having fans in the stands is lame. I don’t look forward to watching silent games.

It's like a reflection of our "American Way" of dealing with this virus. Try to rebrand a virus. Try to spin a virus. Try to just have fun and have the virus all turn out fine.... the thing is, you have to be responsible with the virus. We have absolutely the worst instincts for this. (whereas our instincts are great for things like making money magically appear just by consuming or something in normal times... this is abnormal times.)

I'm sad about this, by the way. We have a shlitzshow in the economy. Some business ain't coming back in some sectors. Trends that were beginning are accelerating. More telework. More telemedicine. Less going to the movies, more downloading them to big screens at home or to small screens. We put another 6 trillion on the national credit card... hey! Another "record!"

And we're still in the first wave. It took a weather-based breather, we all got happy and stupid, not to mention politicizing denial, and big surprise, we got it to spread even with the weather breather.

Wear. Effin'. Masks.

Nothing went away.

This fall looks like it will be a mess. I hope not. I hope we "get away with it" and we only have a quarter million dead by end of year.

Of course, we've seen the onset of Soviet-style disaster news suppression in some states. So I guess we can be what, happy about it or something?

**** 2020. I mean, unless these are 2021's good old days.

The NBA players are thinking about not playing not because of the virus but because they don't like the optics of playing basketball when so much progress is being made right now. They feel they should be protesting instead. I find that surreal in so many ways. But if the NBA black players feel that way, you can bet the NFL players do too.

how did this thread turn into a poli-vomitorium? Does anything NOT trigger the Wall-Of-Puke From Dysentery from posting his continuous onslaught of hysteria?

Never imagined it would come to this but I'm seriously considering exiting Patsfans. Too many topics where reading gets blindsided by political rants.
It started slowly a couple years ago but exponentially increasingly poster after poster has to inject their political views into every thread not once but time and again. Not talking about specific threads like Will There Be a Season where it's directly part of the fabric of the topic but player threads & W/L threads. Political spew pollutes everything. There are other venues for this.
So far, Ignore thread is working, but barely.

Sports and politics have intersected. That's why. Most of your black leaders are athletes.
This is the first time I honestly believe that sports have been regulated to the back burner in light of today's cultural/social issues. I also don't think that is a bad thing either.

Well I'll throttle back I guess... and I do, what, hope there's a season until some player gives the virus to an older relative? Or something? That's what makes it hard. How am I gonna guess 10-6 when my brain is screaming, "IF THERE'S 16 GAMES"

OT:
If NFL eliminates 2 preseason games this summer (1 home), will season ticket holders receive a 1/18 refund or are preseason games assigned a lower face value?

I am so excited to see this team play without Brady. It just felt like it was time after the last SB win, but we had to wait another year to build up the anticipation of a new era....Hopefully the pandemic won't get in the way. I will be surprised if they don't win at least 10 games. Stidham is a known quantity by the team evaluators, many of the same evaluators that guided our team to historical heights. I have seen it with my own eyes over and over again, how well this team gets built with a bunch of "nobodys", only to surprise and "overachieve".

Well, also because if we moved on right after a SB win, fans would lose their minds that much more. I guess pre-2019 was a contract negotiation too, which resulted in 1 more year with a no-franchise-tag clause.

And good for him. His interests and ours just diverged.

In fact, if we have a season, I'd love any outcome for Brady. The good sport in me says, "Go on get your ring." The other part says "How sweet that would be if he totally collapses?" (I know, not very mature, but he got paid, albeit somewhat under market value, for the memories. Fair game now. I'm not and never was a Brady fan, I'm a fan of Brady for 20 years of contributions to the Patriots.) That said, Right back on the bandwagon if he starts winning. I totally know I will hypocritically be all-in on whichever viewpoint I end up taking.

But yeah how cool would it be for the machine to keep rolling with Stidh the Kid under center (or Kaepernick for that matter, if that actually happens)?

I’m not cheering for Brady to win a ring any more or less than I’d cheer any other rival QB to do so. He won’t anyway so it’s moot.

That's a no-brainer for me, if TB makes the SB against anyone except NE, I would 100% support TB, especially if they wear the creamsicle uniforms. I used to love rooting for TB and SEA when they first came into the league. I still have a soft spot for both teams.
