Sony Michel recovering from foot surgery

Great news. He will be ready to go in November just in time for the season to be cancelled...

Explains a bit, but also is puzzling that he will wait this long to have surgery if he needed it. Season ended in Jan 2020.
Or was he waiting on a special doctor?

I'd guess the whole pandemic thing may have delayed it a few days. :D

We'd see more of the athleticism and explosiveness he showed at UGA, and it would open up his potential as receiver (again, another element of his college game that was dynamic but has completely went away since coming to the Pats).
Maybe he had a QB who didn't trust him as a receiver..........

Assuming he can heal for this season then I would give him the chance to show what he can do...if not then time for Harris to step in or start looking around for 2021

I had typed that too as a concern but looks like backspace took it off and I did not see that it ws off.

Disliking a screenshot?? C'mon son. It's not propaganda I made up.

Ill take this time to say a was driving the Jackson bus before anyone and had him almost tied for QB1. Had Landry, Goedert, Sutton & Chubb graded higher as well. Also had a 2nd on Leonard.

Chubb, btw, has been PFF best RB since he's been drafted 2 years ago.

Yeah, I think Lamar Jackson was the guy we missed out on, not Nick Chubb...

Is this the reason he runs in a straight line and can't make a defender miss?

Hopefully he needs to rest up for a few games

it’s criminal that he starts while talented RBs sit on the bench

This doesn't make him a better NFL RB. I'd be pleasantly surprised if he does well this year, but I'm not expecting it. He had a top 3 OL and FB in 2018-19.

And for good reason...

Remember the Dolphins game at the end of the season? Brady throws a Pick 6 that cost us the game (his first in 2 years) - I think Captain Stone agreed with that statement in a previous thread. The ball was thrown between Michel and Edelman - you have to think that Brady was throwing to Michel and at the last minute decided to throw to Edelman, even though JE11 was not open, and the ball ends up floating in-between the two of them. The Pick 6 was by Eric Rowe so we know it was not an amazing read and pick. Why not throw the ball to Sony? Because Tom was not going to throw to Sony even if he was open. So he throws a pick 6 instead. I love Tom and always will, but he was not in a good place in 2019 and Michel takes a lot of heat for being a "run only" RB because Brady would not throw to him. Did Sony make mistakes early on? YES Was Brady going to forgive him and work with him? HELL NO.

You’re forgetting Gronk who blocked like an extra T. Dwayne Allen was also throwing very good blocks.

Most, if not all RB’s are lucky to just have a good O-line and maybe one decent blocking TE. Michel had a whole convoy of blockers at his disposal giving him wide open holes in 2018.

Michel has a lot to prove this year.

This season we so desperately need a running game to help the young offense lead by Stidham our QB, I hope. The last thing I want is Hoyer to lead our offense this season
