Sony Michel recovering from foot surgery

Explains a lot. Hope he’s back to his 2018 season playoff form.

Really starting to turn sour on this pick. I would be surprised if Belichick decides to extend Michel past his rookie contract. An average, injury-prone runner who can't catch and has a degenerative knee.

At least the team got the 2018 post season performance from him... but I feel a lot of running backs would have had success with Brown/Thuney/Andrews/Mason/Cannon/Gronk/Allen/Develin mauling the entire defense

Oh well, even if he doesn’t make it past his rookie contract at least a ring came from him helping

Honestly wish we took Chubb or better yet not a Back at all in the first round.
Remember some analyst said Michel was better than Barkley crickets from that Anaylst.

This proves anyone can be an “analyst”. Lmao

Glass feet.

Somehow he injured his foot during the lockdown of the nation.

RBs and WRs that are Busts drafted by BB.

Ive never seen anything like it.

If this injury is from last season, why wait so long to get surgery? That drives me crazy tbh..

if not.. I think Sony has developed a case of the Fragile Fred Syndrome ...

Seems like the ideal year to do it. No activities of any kind, unclear how camp will even be conducted given the recently published guidelines and at this point he is experienced enough to miss the first few weeks of camp.

Stidhams boy Harris has a big chance here.
And JJ Taylor I lime his game.
can somebody who knows backs tell me how Michel is a first rounder and How JJ went undrafted?
I think he has a chance to make the 53

The foot injury makes sense given his lackluster performance last season. Foot injury aside, I keep pounding this drum but Sony looks too heavy. Look at his build in college vs. now - he's much heavier now than he was at UGA. He looks pudgy and out of shape compared to his college days. It might be fair to say that his weight partially contributed to this foot issue, and so dropping pounds would be a win-win; take stress off the foot and improve his overall game.

Obviously he's an NFL RB and you need him to be durable, but I don't think shedding 6-8 lbs ... maybe even 10-12 lbs would hurt him; in fact, it would very likely help him.

We'd see more of the athleticism and explosiveness he showed at UGA, and it would open up his potential as receiver (again, another element of his college game that was dynamic but has completely went away since coming to the Pats).

This guy looked like Kamara 2.0 in college with a bit more short-yardage/between-the-tackles power to boot ... now he looks like a plodding, painfully average 2-down back.

The potential is absolutely 100% there based on looking at his days in college.

Explains a bit, but also is puzzling that he will wait this long to have surgery if he needed it. Season ended in Jan 2020.
Or was he waiting on a special doctor?

I am still waiting to see what he gives us that Legarrette Blount or Stevan Ridley or BenJarvus Green-Ellis or any RB of that ilk couldn't. We paid pennies on the dollar for those guys and statistically speaking they were better than Sony.

If you loved Bruce Willis in Unbreakable, don't miss Sony Michel in "Wicked Breakable" (based on a true story).
