I wonder if the league will ban fans from going to games if they stand for the national anthem? If you criticize this post then you're just trying to suppress free speech:rolleyes:

What's your definition of "systemic racism"? What do you think it means, I'm curious?

Also I spent about 10 seconds reading one of those articles and immediately regretted the click. You really take that **** seriously? Like there's no bias there?

The Manufactured Crisis of Police Racism

You cant refute the evidence which is overwhelming. "Systemic racism" --whatever you anarchists want to call it-- is proven a baseless lie. Science, facts, which you leftists pretend to care about, goes against the fake news narrative. You can only name call and make snarky comments.

Please point me to where I called you any names? I didn't, yet you called me an anarchist and a leftists lol.

Also you didn't answer the question. So like 0 for 3 in 2 post.

That's a good read. Thanks.

I've always thought our police officers are stuck in the middle of some kind of a policy war. Yes there are a few bad apples and yes we might need better oversight but I think overall we have a decent police force and your article supports that.

I agree with the notion of "systematic oppression". I think the current welfare system has a lot to do with it. I grew up in the military and we all had the same amenities and all performed at an equal level. So how do we get that in the US?

I think we can all agree that it would be nice if these players were even half as outspoken against domestic violence issues within the league as they are about racism. Instead, players keep their mouths shut for the most part, and are content playing alongside scumbag pieces of trash like Tyreek Hill, Terrell Suggs, and Kareem Hunt.

Does this Unz.com article, based on an American Renaissance youtube video, address something as simple as why drug use rates are pretty close between whites and blacks but blacks are several times more likely to face drug charges, or does it just fall back on the ****ing 13/50 stormfront talking points that every jUsT aSkInG qUeStIoNs spineless racist ****er spouts?

He was completely correct in his statement and position on the subject. He caved under pressure. Feel sorry for him in having to retract his opinion/statement but again....he was completely correct and accurate. Fire all players kneeling during OUR national anthem!!!

I understand where the players are coming from now. If you asked me a year ago, I would have said they should take their protest to a different forum. Personally I would never kneel for the anthem, but I would caution the players to think about what this country has given them. They are NFL players living the dream that so many of us desire. They can only do that in this country. And standing for the flag not only represents respect for the military, it gives respect to the people of the civil rights movement who wanted a better flag.

It would be great to have a controversial QB who makes the news frequently again. I miss those days.

I don't get how any reasonable person can look at the systematic overreaction of police forces against mostly peaceful protests in the last week and come to the conclusion that things are in a decent place. "Better oversight" is an understatement with such a large gap that I can't even express it.

In many ways the police force and their unions are closer to a Mafia-esque racket than a group that is there to protect its citizens. There is close to zero accountability.

Randomly pepper spraying people at intersections, shoving seniors to the ground without any emotion, teargassing protesters, shooting rubber bullets wildly into crowds, using excessive and deadly force over alleged fake 20$ bills or running a no knock raid and killing completely innocent residents. And then lie to the faces of the media or relatives after the fact. If anything we have seen once again that there is no reason at all to trust a single police officer if he can't back his claims up via their body cam. But unfortunately those are conveniently turned off on a regular basis.

And all of that is nothing new, it is just that now we have cameras on our phones to record most of those transgressions. There are collections of over 300 taped cases all round Twitter or Reddit threads of those ****ers totally snapping.

I am sorry but "better oversight" and "decent police force" doesn't quite cut it.

Or to use your analogy: at this point those alleged few bad apples have produced so much ethylene that most of the lot has been spoiled.

  1. The Saints would be insane to cut Brees
  2. The Patriots would be insane not to go after Brees
  3. If you're looking at any player's general politics and/or thoughts as a guide to signing them, you're insane
Hope that helps
Pretty much. But then you have a situation like happened to the Bruins' Tim Thomas when he snubbed Barack Obama and the media effectively ran him out of town. So, you know, insanity is a thing.

It's an interesting read with reputable sources and studies.

It should be a requirement that police body cams and dash cams be turned on for all police encounters. Anyone who conveniently turns them off should be reprimanded or fired.

Yeah, the media said Thomas was being disrespectful to the Office of President. However, when a player refuses to visit Trump, they are exercising their free speech.

I'm sure the NFL is just shaking at the thought of losing old(er) white men after the drop in ratings that was never really a thing when players kneeled.

I just don't understand some people. Why do you watch the games or like the sport? I guess people can't separate the two?

A players views ... left, right, center ... would never effect my appreciation of their hand usage or ability to avoid pressure. It'll never stop my appreciation for play design.

Some people are really telling on themselves on different levels.

It's actually pretty sad. If you're friend(s) , true friend, ask for your support. Ask for help. You don't start checking boxes. You don't do anything but help ... Immediately. Again people's post are telling. You can tell they don't have real black friends or in some cases sound like pos.

Saying black lives matter doesn't mean others don't or aren't as valuable. Obviously all lives matter. Blacks are sick of the bs and are simply stating enough is enough.
Just like kneeling isn't disrespecting the military or flag ... Not even close. Do you slow ones know who brought this idea to CK in the first place?

Just very sad, like its going to hurt you or burst your bubble somehow?

This slow old man is going to try and explain it all to you.

When I started watching the NFL, before the Pats existed btw, it was nothing at all like it is now. There were far less outside influences, which I myself prefer.

As for the politics, I don't want to hear it from the left, center or right. Not when I'm paying to be entertained. Give me football.

Now, if this were a political forum and not for football, I'd like nothing more than to talk about politics and straighten out some of you youngsters.

And finally, what exactly is CK trying to say anyway? I don't recall hearing him say anything. People seem to speak for him instead.

I think that if we replaced our entire police force with Buddhist monks in twenty years we'd be complaining Monk brutality.

Maybe then some of those that complain wouldn't have lost an eye or got their skull fractured. Baby steps.

You either learn to like change or irrelevancy.

Remember when people would talk down the college game and its influence on the NFL? It's a phase, they said. Mobile QB's would never work, they never win, people still say foolishly.

Well the college game has taken over and very soon all we'll see are mobile QB's winning.

Again learn to like change or evolution or get left behind.

I'm reading these post like I'm in a car looking in my rear view mirror. People are getting left behind and are scared of change.

Yeah, it truly is a mystery what Kaepernick potentially could have wanted to express with his protest. If only anyone had reported or talked about it in the last few years..
