Would We Sign Drew Brees

It looks like the league is supporting kneeling now. I wonder what that means for Brees as the league moves forward. If things continue as they are, I could see the league suspending him.

You're an idiot.

You don't see Goodell over-correcting in an authoritarian manner like he does with so many things. That's myopic, man.

No I don't see that.

But continue on with your shyt stirring.

How am I stirring anything by speculating on what Goodell will do? We're here to discuss things Patriots and football related and you're saying not to. That seems a bit against the mission, right?

You also attacked me with insults while I engage in a respectful dialogue with those who give me respect. I don't get that around here... on lots of boards, calling other people idiots unprovoked would get a suspended account.

If you think that shyt stirring comments that have little to no possibility of happening is the mission then you need help.

All I see is you trying to suppress free speech on here. And it won't have been the first time. Oh well, some people just don't care about a dialogue.

You're right. My apologies. Continue on with your insightful rambling.

Drew Brees may have just won his teammates back...

I think if there is a football season this year it will be Kaepernick on steroids. If it is a left wing political protest-athon every week I'm done with it. We will be told which players to love or hate by their opinions. The sad thing is this false "systemic racism" narrative is a myth
all the studies prove and I've been saying that since the Kaepernick "protests." If you want common ground, seeing the data shows a slight anti-white bias by police and NO anti-black bias, maybe we can protest police misconduct instances across the board but if you guys want to make this a racial thing forget it. (and the divide and conquer Marxist social engineers using their media will not permit unity.)

Why institutional racism is a myth

What's your definition of "systemic racism"? What do you think it means, I'm curious?

Also I spent about 10 seconds reading one of those articles and immediately regretted the click. You really take that **** seriously? Like there's no bias there?

We all know statistics aren’t suppose to get in the way of feelings these days. That goes for plenty of things.

Wtf

I hope not. I used to like him, but this was the second time he spoke out ( different occasions), and it has cost him. He should have known the consequences of his remarks, and yet he spoke anyways. F him

See ya!

I'm sure the NFL is just shaking at the thought of losing old(er) white men after the drop in ratings that was never really a thing when players kneeled.

I just don't understand some people. Why do you watch the games or like the sport? I guess people can't separate the two?

A players views ... left, right, center ... would never effect my appreciation of their hand usage or ability to avoid pressure. It'll never stop my appreciation for play design.

Some people are really telling on themselves on different levels.

It's actually pretty sad. If you're friend(s) , true friend, ask for your support. Ask for help. You don't start checking boxes. You don't do anything but help ... Immediately. Again people's post are telling. You can tell they don't have real black friends or in some cases sound like pos.

Saying black lives matter doesn't mean others don't or aren't as valuable. Obviously all lives matter. Blacks are sick of the bs and are simply stating enough is enough.
Just like kneeling isn't disrespecting the military or flag ... Not even close. Do you slow ones know who brought this idea to CK in the first place?

Just very sad, like its going to hurt you or burst your bubble somehow?

Well the racist people just want to be coddled and feel important because decent society typically doesn’t have a place for them and they need to conceal their views. Dog whistles like this are great because they can deflect and say “no this is really about the military” and use that to complain about the content of the protest.

Honestly if 2 mins at the start of a game that is rarely televised for most games is going to make you quit the sport, then leave. Like what are you upset all the sports broadcasters will talk about it? Guess what they already do and they by and large agreed with the protests outside of a small set of outliers

I guess George Floyd choked himself. My bad

I think one of the ingredients of empathy is trying to put yourself a little bit in someone else's shoes. That cuts both ways. When people choose to ignore what other people might be feeling then that's when you might get resentment from them. In this instance I think a lot of people saw the kneeling as a break of tradition. Game after game after game they've been asked to rise for the national anthem and some decent, well meaning people would do that. All of a sudden they see some people do the opposite and kneel instead. That offended some people. They didn't understand because they thought they weren't standing because they didn't believe in honoring the country like they did. Now the whole thing might be turning completely around. Now what will the kneelers think about people that still stand during the national anthem? Will they look at them as not supporting their cause? Will they take it a step further and and play the same card that was played on them when it all started? Unfortunately some will want to paint and define people by standing or kneeling....that there's not any room for both. We see it before us right in these threads.

From a massive, emotionally charged exaggeration in his original comments to a ridiculous, emotionally charged “redemption”. People are so stupid. The original comments weren’t racist (though certainly regrettable with the timing) and this throwing down the gauntlet is such an obvious PR stunt.

I have much less respect for Brees than I did yesterday.

I wouldn't mind seeing from AP's view...

Adrian Peterson Salary

Having earned over $99 million during the course of his career, Adrian Peterson signed his biggest contract - a 7-year $96 million deal - in 2011 with the Minnesota Vikings. It included $32 million in guaranteed wages and made Peterson the then highest paid running back in NFL history.

Seeing his stock fall over the years due to recurring injuries, Peterson signed a veteran's minimum contract of $1,015,000 for a year with the Washington Redskins in 2018 after being released by the Arizona Cardinals at the end of the 2017 season.

Not exactly a model citizen...

Adrian Peterson Endorsements

Once a top-10 player in the league, Peterson worked with marquee brands such as Nike and Verizon back in the earlier years of this decade. However, after being indicted in 2014 on account of recklessly beating up his then 4-year-old son, those deals soon went away. Peterson did return to sponsorships through Adidas, with whom he signed a deal in 2015.
