Since 2001 the Patriots have handed Peyton Manning-led teams some delightful beatings. Let's relive the highlights of a rivalry that fizzled out like a popcorn fart some time before Brady tripled his ring count.

My vote for best game is for Divisional Round - Indianapolis Colts at New England Patriots - January 16th, 2005 20-3

This was the best offense in league history up to that point, aided and abetted by rule changes brought on by Jim Irsay crying like a baby over the previous 5 consecutive Colts losses to the Patriots since 2001. And the Patriots held them to 3 anyway. On offense the Patriots mainly ran it down their throats to the tune of 39 attempts for 210 yards. This might just be the ultimate moment of failure for Peyton Manning, not counting his choke jobs in actual Super Bowls of course - he was gifted every advantage by the league and still went out like a baby back [expletive deleted]

Honorable mention: AFC Championship - Indianapolis Colts at New England Patriots - January 18th, 2004 24-14

This isn't as glaring a flop on paper - but it's an even more egregious game for Manning personally, who threw 4 picks. Hilariously he completed as many passes to Ty Law as he did to Marvin Harrison (3 each) and was sacked 4 times on top of that.

Pats games only? Because I never cheered for another team as hard as I did when Tracy Porter picked him off and took it to the house

Go hog wild. Preferably with dopey face videos to go with it!

20-3 my favorite also...birth of the Manning face.

Saints SB pick six is my favorite and the Seattle beat down in SB 48 when the center snapped ball over his head on the first play.

20-3 is the game. That defense was formidable!

Pretty sure I had an erection from the first snap that went over his head in SB48, until the final snap of the game

In case anyone forgot. :whistle::)

I agree with the OP. From a Patriots standpoint, the 2004 AFCCG win is the best "Eff Peyton Manning" game. In addition to what sean10mm mentioned, this game had the common theme of most of Manning's playoff failures: The offense didn't show up.

Manning's defenders always claim that his Colts' teams never had a great defense. If that was the case, you'd expect to see them losing playoff games with scores like 38-35 or 45-42. When the Colts are losing postseason games 20-3, 19-16, 28-21, 24-14, 17-16 and so on, it's pretty clear the defense was not getting embarrassed in these games. The high-flying, much heralded offense is the unit that repeatedly didn't show up.

From a non-Patriots standpoint, I'd choose the Colts loss to the Chargers in the 2007 divisional round. While the 2007 Patriots offense rightfully got a lot of attention, the Colts that year were really good. They were the #3 offense in the league in points and #5 in yards. They also had the top ranked defense in points allowed and #3 in yards. With a 13-3 record, Indianapolis was the #2 seed and hosted the Chargers in the divisional round. Even with home field, a bye week, highly ranked offense and defense, and key injuries to their opponent (LaDainian Tomlinson left the game in the 2nd quarter and Philip Rivers at the end of the third quarter), the 2007 Colts won zero playoff games. After their defense couldn't stop a Billy Volek directed TD drive for the lead, the final two Colts drives ended with Manning throwing incomplete on 4th down. Honestly, the Chargers could have won by more, but an Antonio Cromartie INT return for a TD at the end of the first half was wiped out due a dubious holding call during the run back.

2007 for me. That win on the road was satisfying after taking a beating at Gillette in 2005 and getting swept in 2006.

2nd place was 2004 which was all set up for a Colts upset, but choked. Kicker talking s***.

20-3 for sure.

However some mediots bring up his record vs the Patriots and all I can think is there has never been any decisive victories without a controversial call/calls/ aid from the refs. He’s never beaten them clean so to speak. And flat out, it’s not homersim on my part. To anyone that’s not blind he was a fan favorite and the NFL wanted him as their golden boy but got someone else instead for the most part.

I'm not sure why but there has been a rise of "Manning may not be the GOAT, but he is the BOAT" talks on other forums.

Fivehead is the COAT--Chokingest of all Time*!

Manning was a tremendous front running QB and when everything was clicking he looked virtually invincible. (see multiple blowout WC wins) Problem with Manning is that he was not a grinder and rarely pulled his team out of the fire in the postseason when things were not going well. The 2006 AFCCG was the only game of note in his entire postseason career.

1:52:27 Fivehead almost laughed when Vanderjerk missed Loool

1:31:31 Still amazed that was not an int

Looking back I wish the Colts did win this game for obvious reasons since the Steelers went on to win the SB.
