no...they can get better QB's without a trade

Eh, he’s not been in great situations, but he’s been far from impressive. I guess I’d take him for practically free if his cap number is low?

Yes, but only for an extremely low pick. Or else, wait until (if) he’s cut. I think a bit more highly of Rosen than most. He’s had a terrible set of circumstances since he’s been drafted. Not an excuse; just a fact. I think he’d do well here because of the coaching.

Now that the Brady era is over, I have no interest in immobile quarterbacks.

He is a Bust.

Howe over at The Athletic had a good write up on J'Mar Smith yesterday. Between him and Lewerke....I like our competition for the 3rd spot. Not sure why Rosen was given up on quickly in Arizona and also unable to take away snaps from Harvard Fitzy.... so, pass. Besides, the fish will cut him eventually, IMO....no need to trade.

I think Kyler Murray is going to be outstanding...to me it's a no brainer why Arizona moved on from Rosen.

Ummmmmm, give me a second...

If it was a 6 or 7th round pick. He would be a better choice than Cam at this point. But I would rather ride with Stidham and then draft next year if we need to.

I don't think he'll turn out to be anything special but it's hard not to think he got screwed over twice in two professional seasons. He's about as good a prospect as Stidham, so maybe a 4th?

1) Yes, Smith and Lewerke may be solid competitors for the 3rd QB spot, a spot on the Practice Squad. There is very little reason to believe that either ill make the team as a 3rd QB, barring an injury.

2) What gooD would it be to wait until a couple of weeks before the season to sign Rosen, the likely time that they would cut him/ There is no incentive to do so before then. Maybe some team will make an offer by then.

3) I cannot judge whether Rosen is done. Maybe better coaching would help, maybe not.

4) Competition in camp is a good thing. And, yes I think we already have some competition in camp with Hoyer.

I would trade for him for a low pick, like a 6th. But it depends on his cap number too. It wouldn’t hurt to have more talented competition and even if he doesn’t win the job (he probably wouldn’t) if he shows well enough after a couple pre-seasons some team will sign him just because he played in NE and they’d have a chance at a similar or better comp pick.

That said, I think the team is determined to A) spend as little as possible on QB this year and B) have their #3 QB be someone cheap they can keep for several years if they do keep a #3. So that’d be Smith or Lewerke. I very much doubt they trade for Rosen.

I'd rather sign Cam Newton and start him. Rodney Harrison approves.

There is almost no cap room for Cam Newton. Rosen is still on his rookie deal, so he could be a cheap number 2 or 3 QB. Even if we don't trade for him, I don't see why it would be a bad idea to give him a shot to compete against Stidham. This is especially true if Belichick does not know what he has in Stidham yet and this is just a tryout year for him. Who knows how he'll do with better coaching....but he didn't exactly thrive in Chad O'Shea's patriot-style offense last year (for which O'Shea got fired because it was too complex for Rosen and others).

If teams really need cap room, they'll find a way.

He blows.

No Thanks. Stid the kid is apparently a coach, sender of laser bullets, and future HOF. I'll stick with him.

He and Winovich can battle it out for our starting fullback vacancy.
