Its pretty universally known by just about all football people that it was a pass that he should have caught. The only ones that argue the other way are the few that never can give Brady credit for anything. Theres a few articles that blame both an imperfect pass and a drop that welker makes 99 percent of the time....Dion Branch said that. Welker said he dropped it. You go on and dream of Brady bad plays if thats what helps you. For pretty much the rest of the world, we'll stick with reality

Worse drop in SB history especially when compared to Edelman's catch with 4 arms and 2 legs wrapped around him while in the air. Receivers only job is to catch the ball if it is anywhere near them much less when they get 2 hands on it and no defender hitting them.

Brady was pretty bad in SB53 from wire to wire. But that didn’t matter. Thank goodness for JE, that running game and Goff being worse. In 46 he was pretty good on a few drives especially the one at the end of the first half. I don’t think the intentional grounding was a good call. The drop was equally Welker and Brady to blame.

Oddly enough his best SB game by a mile was another loss.

To be fair however, one of the reasons that The Catch was somewhat less difficult is that Clark was Exactly where he was supposed to be...The Receiver wasn't.

The Receiver should NOT have been looking for an INSIDE throw...unless he was looking to have his clock cleaned...The coverage DEMANDED that the throw be made slightly toward the sideline, around 10-11 o'clock...EXACTLY where the ball went. WTF is that so difficult a concept for some people?

Because some people don’t think about a wr being Austin Collied. It’s subtle but watch the change in direction the safety makes. Because of where the throw went, he basically conceded the first down and wanted to make sure welker didn’t score. Had the throw been inside it’s possible Wes would’ve taken a big hit.

The other thing to note is how soft the ball came in. So many football experts have commented on how Brady throws one of the most catchable balls. He took a little off to make sure it floated right into Wes hands and he drops it with no one hitting him because the throw led him away from the safety and no sideline to straddle. Like I said, one of the worst drops in SB history.

Exactly. Wes made it difficult on himself turning his shoulder the wrong way, but was still in position to catch the football in plenty of time.

The Intentional Grounding penalty was a bogus, criminally incompetent call...That flag isn't thrown if that were ShEli chucking it downfield...

The INT to Gronk was ill-advised, but weren't they in a long-distance situation anyway? I've rationalized that one as merely an early punt...

The one play that was a real killer and for which Brady should be blamed is 3rd/4 inside the Vagiants 10 early in the 2nd quarter...Edelman, in a left bunch with Twig & The Receiver, is Wide Open for an easy 1st down, perhaps for a TD if he makes one man miss...Brady instead is locked-on toward The Late Prisoner, in the right slot with Gronk to his right, and throws an INC that is knocked-down by the tall trees at DE...We could've used those 4 extra points...

You know I loved Wes when he was here BUT Edelman is so clutch, so gritty, so unbelievably tough. I know everyone likes to talk about Gronk the last 10 years but the best and most important upgrade to Pats 2.0 was Edelman replacing Wes.

This post got me to thinking so I checked out a top ten list of drops. My first thought was that the old one by Jackie Smith was there and it was. That was the one in 78 when he joined the Cowboys at the end of his career to get a ring and handed one to Pittsburgh instead. The Pats made it twice with Asante and Welker.

To be honest I think the Branch drop was just as devastating. Also might have been a game clincher and this one was more catchable than Welker’s.

Watching the replay, I'm not convinced he even need to turn and jump. Had he continued running toward the sideline, away from coverage, I think the ball hits him in stride. Welker made it awkward. Just watch the play unfold and pause right before Welker pivots. You can't tell me that doesn't look like a perfectly thrown ball.

Nothing will top the loss in SB42 but 46 is close. I lost 100K when I didn't get an intended $100 bet in at 1000-1 odds. I was too busy running around different bars to get my square numbers and forgot about the bet.

That would have been a spectacular catch. It was not nearly as easy as it’s been made out to be. I think it’s a stretch to call it a drop.

Well, I'm late to the party here. But....... I'll give my 2-cents worth.

I won't watch the series. It's by ESPN who has done everything they could to slander and put down the Patriots. Now that Brady has moved to another team, all of a sudden he's a hot commodity they hope to make money off of, and gain some brownie points. Eff them. The ONLY time I will tune to ESPN is when there is a Patriots or Alabama game that I cannot get through any other source. Otherwise, they and their anti-New England, fake news and leftist political shills can GFT and, with any luck, go out of business.

As to Brady, he's moved on. Like any divorce, it's time to put him in the rear view mirror and spend time with the new spouse. There's a new QB, a new team and new uniforms. I don't hate Brady. I wish him no ill will, but I have no desire to spend my precious time on him ( or Gronk ). He left for another team, so he's history and I'm now only interested in the future of my favorite NFL team.

I realize that others may (and will) see things differently, and that's fine. It's a free country, etc. Go for it. But I'm not living in the past. That relationship is gone. Done. Finished. Let's move on and look forward to a new dynasty in New England!
