And yet if we lined up and faced off, you’d end up 20 yards downfield on your back

So I guess we’re even, pumpkin

Doesn’t matter what it’s called. The handoff was delayed as the tailback took a half step backward to allow the o line to push the defense to the right and effectively sealed them off. Notice how they created a wall to seal off the defense as the tailback cut left to an almost empty defensive backfield

May have had a bit of misdirection involved as the fullback appeared to be going to right side of the line

If you’re proud of your ability to analyze the game, I don’t understand why.
I can't believe you wrote that lol
Yea the back never took a step backward & a blind man could see that wall. Honestly this is the best you got boomer? His step actually helps ID the run if you knew what you were talking about ...

Just to be clear ... No step backwards

You said you've played the game and are 60+ years old. This should be easy. OZ, Counter, Draw, Windback, IZ ... But you got nothing except the big guys created a wall.

Nothing wrong with a little football talk in a football forum??? Is there??

I mean this thread has been bumping with the all-stars. Surely they can tell everyone what kind of run this is since NEP have been running it for years.

I'll wait ....
:coffee::coffee::coffee::coffee::coffee::coffee::coffee::coffee::coffee::coffee::coffee::coffee::coffee::coffee:

I don't know........so what does this mean?

I'm sure I could figure it out but I am too lazy and my 1st old fashioned of the day is waiting for me

that looked like IZ to me with a beautiful cutback off the center. Might look like a counter to some people but it wasn’t

I can't tell if I'm supposed to take you seriously.

If I'm not...fine.

If I am...this post is extremely embarrassing.

Sorry bud, but I mentioned misdirection which is exactly what a counter is. I played left guard and loved traps & counters.

You do understand that your hobby isn’t something to be proud of, don’t you? I mean I’m glad you find it satisfying but it’s not like anyone looks to your insights for anything

Do you know what a forearm shiver is?

I am sure I would........especially since you'd be going up against someone else, I'd kick you from behind.......I ain't no hero, never kicked anyone in the squeakers before......I would do it just to see how badly it would make you squirm on the ground

I thought I saw somewhere that you're 5'5"/250lb....sounds like you could have good leverage provided you could get your hands on them
Not even close in either height or weight

Although I had a couple of years over 250. I’m at 190 now and losing more. You’re a brave man IC

Simply not true boomer . Posters pm, @ me asking things just like I've done asking others.

Nothing wrong with learning from each other.

And speaking of insights, it sounds like you need them considering that's not a counter run boomer.

Nothing the matter with being wrong. Try again cupcake.

Neither but I could see thinking IZ, probably closest thing to it. Not sure how some saw counter?

Here's gte counter ... Feel like difference is glaring ...

I Think people might see counter or misdirection because of the cutback/ initial move of the back but no one pulled.

If that wasn’t IZ then it certainly seemed like the the play was designed to give the impression it was Inside zone to the defense

Windback, that's exactly what the play is designed to look like. They look very similar, I have a hard time ID it sometimes.

It was Hank Stram's favorite play, the 65 Toss Power Trap.

Okay, truth is, I have no clue and don't really care. I only mentioned that one because it's the only play I could name.

It wasn't this. But he could talk some chalkboard. Okay greatest generationer.

I've avoided this thread this entire time, and now that I finally click on it, I see some folks going on about football knowledge.

The irony is that, I clicked on it because it was so many pages at this point - "Alright, this has to be some long discussion with a lot of viewpoints."

Silly me, this is Patsfans. Anything that goes over 10-13 pages on this board will invariably be an entirely separate discussion by the end, often times with multiple plots unfolding - some resolving or being left cold - but for sure, it will not be what the title suggests. More often than not, there will be contentious dispute.

"The Law of Patsfans" - I like it.

Congratulations on being the first poster in this forum to throw me for a loop. I feel like you're joking, but I'm not 100% convinced.

Sorry I'm on a windback kick. Kentucky ran it so well this year I've been on a kick. Looking at different teams running it different ways. QB with WR or TE lead. Lots of fun @iapatsfan.
