Tom Brady pitching snake oil

There's nothing revolutionary about staying away from processed foods and keeping hydrated the problem is, favoring low cost and quick fixes, we've turned away from the basics.
What is revolutionary at least from a football perspective is the way he trains. Football has always emphasized iron and he emphasizes flexibility with longer muscles that can take impact but also remain nimble. That is really where Alex clashed with BBs training staff. They are more old school despite the fact that not only Brady but Gronk, Edelman and Hightower have had great results from the TB12 method.

Been taking C, D and Zinc since this thing started.
Me too. The best way to fight infectious disease is always through a strong immune system. Brady was smart to release his powder now. People are clamoring for stuff like this that puts everything in one easy package.

Then why have we heard opposite views from credible scientists? Isn't the "exact science" there for both of them?

Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge math and science fan and our baby boy is a scientist, but something must be at play.

But still, we can't let a few bad apples spoil the barrel

Can you give some examples of “opposite views from credible scientists”?

If you’re only talking about COVID19, then the reason for “opposite views” is that this only started a few months ago, and although there’s been a ton of data being generated, we are still early in understanding how the virus infects and harms people and how the immune system fights back. We are in the “fog of war” with this and don’t have a complete picture, hence why there are different conclusions. It’s a feature of science, not a bug, and shouldn’t lead anyone to “question all of science” as you say.

If the supplement is overpriced so is McDonald, your iPhone, your car, ect... it's no different than everything else.

It took you 5 years but we finally agree on something. I've lived that with a family member, but it wasn't a stubbed toe.

One thing that has come to my attention lately is the amount of different views that come from doctors and scientists, all who seem to be reputable. It makes me question all of science more now than ever.

IOW, science isn't always an exact science.
Science is based on facts, but not all facts are known, or even knowable at any given time in our evolution. There is generally a bell curve like consensus based on imperfect information, and that consensus changes as new information becomes available. Do you bet your money, or life, on the middle of the bell curve or under the tail?

Does Tompa’s immunity miracle capsules come with the same FDA approvals his concussion water came with?

Great results?
Gronk.... 2018..... glacially slow, shell of his former self
2019 year off to gain health
That Alex is a miracle worker

How’d Old School Bill ever win 3 out 4 SBs a decade and half ago without the massage creeper working his glute magic

Gronk played great in the post-season of 2018 and was an absolute beast in 2017. Hightower could not stop talking last year about how Alex was helping him strengthen his core allowing him to play faster with less injury/pain. In reality, I think a combo is probably ideal but the Patriots were a mess last year in terms of injuries to key players so whatever BB is doing, he probably needs to do it better or change it up.

The Tampa locker room must be in awe.

Every ex Patriot player is selling something after work.

It is a scam and BS, meant to make money for TB12 with no proof that it does anything other than lighten ones wallet. What is next? TB12 male enhancement powder

I suppose they may not do any harm, but other than tricking people psychologically into helping them...I hope TB12 and his marketing "executives" hope they can sleep at night knowing they are taking people's money without value in return.

1: TB12 Male Enhancement Therapy Elixir. Made from a special, undisclosed specific female bodily fluid. Tom schleps it on the interwebs. "Want a better sexual experience, boys? I drink this stuff every day. My wife loves it." Teeth sparkle and you hear a little ding when they do. Fanboys buy it in cases.

2: re; sleeping at night. I legit believe that Tom believes in all this stuff. 100%. I don't think he looks at it and says "this is a crock of chit, but $$$ so..."

I tend to agree.

Tom, and most people actually, don't apply the scientific method in filtering their view of reality and cause/effect, thus vastly inflating the value of anecdote.

Tom sees "I did X, and the result was Y".

That means to him "Doing X caused Y, for me".

That then also means to him "Doing X will cause Y, for you, and in fact for everyone"

Without controls and application of the scientific method, the assumption of correlation with causation and the extrapolation of anecdotal evidence gets you to some very weird places. but sometimes they are financially lucrative places, and getting there does not bother you if you do not have a skeptical / scientific mindset.

The FDA doesn't approve vitamin/mineral supplements. Look at any bottle of vitamins from Flintstones for Kids to Centrum Silver, and they all have the same "not evaluated by the FDA" disclaimer.

I agree.

"See, once I was one of you guys. I took this stuff, now I am on Mt Rushmore with Babe Ruth, Michael Jordan and Muhammad Ali. Come join me. Nothing stops you from being great but you."

Brady to get a nine part series of "the Last Dance"

Keep milking the snake, Tom

Go Pats

I didn't want to get into politics so I didn't give any examples. Yes, I was referring to the virus discussion here, where I also questioned who to believe, but it isn't limited to that. How about I rephrase my statement to "I don't know which scientists to believe?"

As for Tom's snake oil sales, I'm glad he's doing it as a Buc. It's a bad look that would be made to look worse if he were still here.

believe the scientists who say it's bad and it could kill you......you have nothing to gain by believing the other guys

OT:
Since the COVID thread is closed I just wanted to put this out here.
I strongly recommend you all look into/research Ozone Therapy for COVID 19.
One of the proponents is Dr Robert Rowen. I worked for him for a brief period of time. He was a highly accredited emergency room doctor before switching over to alternative medicine (he got tired of pumping drugs into people that didn't get better).
He recently went over to the Republic of the Congo and successfully treated Ebola victims with this treatment.

This treatment is being used in Italy and other European countries. Not widely accepted in the US. (Conspiracy theory warning: It doesn't make any money for big pharmaceutical companies.)

Basically, the ozone super oxygenates your blood and oxidizes the virus, knocking off receptors. This disables it so it can no longer attach to your cells. This allows your immune system time to catch up to the infection. There are other benefits listed in the link.

20 years ago acupuncture and chiropractic were considered quackery. It takes quite a while for the AMA to accept "alternative" methods (see above conspiracy theory).

Obviously don't take my word for it and do the research for yourselves and your loved ones.
Please pass this on, this treatment could be saving more lives.

Not sure why people find this amusing, but anyhow, I edited so maybe it makes a little more sense and added a link.
