That's a lot of great info on the kid. Thanks man.

That's not some super controversial opinion. Back before it was announced that he was having surgery, it's not hard to find evaluators who thought the same or even better:

Great job @Sciz. Thanks for the positive, intelligent response and reading material.

Back before it was announced that he was having surgery, it's not hard to find evaluators who thought the same or even better:

Makes sense. Generally, it's accepted that a draft pick in the current year's draft is worth a pick one round earlier in the subsequent year. So a player with pre-existing injury that needs to miss a year would be devalued by about a round.

Cajuste was picked with the penultimate pick of the 3rd round, which would put him as the penultimate pick of the 2nd round talent-wise - which would be pick #63. DK Metcalf was picked #64. So expect slighty-better-than-DK-Metcalf levels of O-line play.

Cajuste looks faster because he has been training with Harry.

Get the champagne ready.

To me this resembles the Marcus Cannon pick. Swing tackle picked later in draft and "stashed" for a bit until healthy.

Sounds like he is a solid talent and could be our "swing OT" this year behind Cannon and Wynn... Or if he shows enough they could cut Cannon and save the Cap $$.

I like this Quote:
"PROJECTION
Cajuste can be a plug and play left tackle in the NFL. He will be a first round pick and I’d be surprised if he fell out of the top sixteen. If he can stay healthy I expect multiple pro bowls over time."

good research.......however, you won't convince the 'experts' around here of anything.......it is a prevalent aspect of our society today.....some of them are the same ones who said that they would leave as soon as brady was gone

Given the previous health issues of Wynn and cannon, I think we need a healthy and productive cajuste and Herron/Cunningham on the roster!

Because if we have to resign Newhouse and newhouse gets any starts during the season, stidham is going to be sooooo screwed!

That's why Cannon was taken in the 5th round, and not at the end of the 3rd like Cachoo was...

I certainly hope so, because Cannon sucks now...Newhouse did a better job at RT whenever he played there than Cannon ever did last year.

Newhouse at LT was an unmitigated disaster...Newhouse at RT was > Cannon.

Newhouse at rt was greater than an “injured cannon”. I think cannon played through an injury last season. Same with mason!

C'mon Cap'n Sciz produced documentary evidence that many analysts had Cajuste in the 1st or 2nd round pre-injury. Not a good look for you to be calling folks liars and be proven wrong with no apology. Do you believe you are never wrong?

Correct they were both hurt.

Cannon is getting up there in age so we'll need to watch his performance next year carefully.

When I think about Marshall Newhouse, I like to take a positive approach. I think of him more as a very accommodating usher and less as a very bad offensive Tackle.

This o-line is going to be awesome!

Great guy. Funny stories and jokes on the team plane. Great clapper when the defense made a stop.

Many players move up and down draft boards after the college regular season ends; just because somebody's thought to be a top-60 pick on Thanksgiving doesn't make him one on Valentine's Day...or Saint Patrick's Day...or Draft Day...

And as for never being wrong, of course I've been wrong...I was on board the IBBIT train for the Kneal Harry pick, after all...

Still bummed that certain posters reneged on their promise to leave with Brady.

I agreed.

After all, there are at least 6 health issues: Wynn, Andrews, Mason, Cannon, Froholdt and Cajuste. I suppose that we could add Onwenu's weight; his 368 playing weight seems a bit heavy for a patriot guard.

Thuney is the only one healthy for sure, and we don't know whether he will be traded.

If they were going to trade him, they probably would have done so already; the odds that they will get anything now for Thuney that will help them in 2020 is close to zero.

Cajuste went as late as he did (3rd round) because he had to be red-shirted his entire rookie season with a quad injury and teams knew that in advance. It was very much a value pick in that regard.

There's no telling where he would have gone if healthy, but the top two rounds is not reaching, the kid is talented. He has a history of injuries, but also playing through injuries he could play through... he's tough.

Some people would have said don't draft Gronkowski because he has a bulging disk in his back, you can't predict future injury.

If Cajuste's healthy BB is a genius, if he's not BB sucks. If he replaces Cannon as the future at RT, then he was an incredible value in the 3rd. Much the way Cannon was an incredible value due to cancer in the 5th.
