9. Cajuste healthy and ready to roll: The Patriots had a run of injuries at offensive tackle last season, in addition to the retirement of veteran Jared Veldheer, and it was a struggle for them to account for the voids at times. They appear to be in better position this season, and one reason is 2019 third-round pick Yodny Cajuste is "healthy and good to go," according to a source. A top candidate to be the game-day swing tackle, Cajuste spent his entire rookie season on injured reserve (quad).

Top 50 pick before injury.

Would definitely be nice if he could contribute because I have a bad Antonio Garcia feeling about him.

Top 50 pick before injury.

Please stop repeating this Lie.

NFL.com had him as a round 4-5 pick. Hey, I like him, but top 50...

You claim he's a top 50 pick... and you cherry picked a source who says he should go in round 3.

This just in: round 3 is not a top 50 pick.

;)
Well his injury status affected his draft position which is what the poster claimed so....

Rookies who were hurt all year have a really bad history on the Patriots. I dunno if he'll even make the team.

.

This was a very good player before his surgery and subsequent drafting by the Pats.
I don't think I've ever heard less about a player who we've drafted. He just kind of vanished to rehab somewhere?
That he's now healthy is a huge plus for the Pats. Given his surgery/rehab, Cajuste was a kind of luxury draft pick that a team coming off 3 straight Super Bowls could afford to make.
I like how this Oline is shaping up.

Yes, a rookie from last year who stayed out injured is now healthy.

This situation rarely works for the patriots.

But, sure it is a good sign. And, Belichick has ignored history, and appears to be counting on Cajuste. I suppose Eluemunor is our Plan B for backup OT. Obviously, we assume that Wynn and Cannon will be healthy and productive.

Everything with the Oline is predicated on health.

I agreed.

After all, there are at least 6 health issues: Wynn, Andrews, Mason, Cannon, Froholdt and Cajuste. I suppose that we could add Onwenu's weight; his 368 playing weight seems a bit heavy for a patriot guard.

Thuney is the only one healthy for sure, and we don't know whether he will be traded.

And rightly so, since he didn’t play last year.

Sure I’m just saying that the claim of where he would be drafted without the injury isn’t refuted by an analysis of where he would be drafted after the injury.

in any event I believe the point he was trying to make was we have a player who’s injury concerns caused him to fall in the draft and now he is health so that’s encouraging. I feel pretty happy to hear it.

This situation rarely works for the patriots.

There are guys (like Cajuste) that we thought were good enough to draft with a pre-existing injury like Marcus Canon, Dominique Easley, Brandon Tate, etc.

Then you have the guys that got hurt in training camp like Isaiah Wynn, Derek Rivers, Duke Dawson, etc.

Then there are guys who got hurt early in their first year like Bentley, Brissett and Ras-I Dowling.

I'm not sure any of this is particularly predictive.

Big, if true. Cannon can be injury prone.

How many of the 2020 draft picks wind up in this same situation a year from now?

Keene?
Assisi?
Dugger?
Uche?

I don't think we'll be hearing much more about Dugger or Keene moving forward.

I have hope for Uche and Asiasi.

That's not some super controversial opinion. Back before it was announced that he was having surgery, it's not hard to find evaluators who thought the same or even better:
