“Come on help the deflator”

The team’s explanation about weight loss was dumb. They should have just said he called himself that in ONE text in May and it doesn’t prove a thing about his job description. Or just left alone. And nobody else called him that.

If it was his job description then he would be called “the fixer” or something.
sb1, you are obviously a Brady hater and your sb1 handle is starying to make sense. You are a Packers fan and you've apparently made it your life's goal to diminish Brady's accomplishments any way you can so that your real hero Rogers can be the goat. An old boss of mine told me once if you want to have the tallest building you have to build it. Trying to knock all the taller ones down so that yours becomes the tallest is hollow. Tom Brady is the goat, hands down. Write it down.

“Obviously”. Lol.

I refuse to suffer through this again.
ALL MEDIA SUCK...end of discussion. Believe nothing they report. They are all LIARS!!

Six months later, Jastremski clearly stated their policy about ball pressure and that the balls should be about 13.0 when the refs accidentally overinflated them.

Clearly there was no ball deflating scheme when McNally called himself that. He was likely telling the truth. That sounds weird to most people, but using terms related to ball preparation as slang for two guys who prepare footballs for a living isn’t weird.
It isn’t even weird for normal everyday talk. I hear "deflated" used regularly (conversations, tv, radio etc) and it always reminds of the stupid argument that people never use that term in reference to anything but air pressure, which was total bull.

Seems like it shouldn’t have been hard to straighten out. If I was investigating the Patriots for this and I came across this text message I would have asked Jastremski and other team employees who “the deflator” was. If they didn’t know then this is a completely nothingburger message and I would have moved on. If they pointed at McNally then I would have asked them about the nickname and what it meant. Seems straightforward.

The team shouldn’t have been the ones to explain this it should have been Wells. I think we all know why that didn’t happen.

Meanwhile the nfl continues to drag its feet on the Bengal false accusation.

I think it was even too much for Florio. The real story wasn’t about deflated balls, but the extraordinary efforts the league took to “prove” that there was something nefarious going on. That’s why he took the Pats’ side, because anyone that was paying attention saw what bs the league was desperately trying to push.

I'm still waiting for the league to publish the weekly results of the measurements that were supposed to happen...

There was a very good reason they didn’t publish them.

Welp.

I saw this thread bumped, and I thought we had the Shula/Mortensen quiniela this week.

Oh well.
Yeah I was also hoping to read that Mortensen had died...too bad...**** him forever.

Never a bad time to remind everyone how much of a weasel Mortensen is and always has been.

Here he is at Colts headquarters during the 1994 Draft, giggling (while Colts GM Bill Tobin is out of the room) as Mel Kiper trashes the team on live television, and later stumbling over his words when Tobin enters for an interview and doesn't agree with Mortensen's wisecrack. The man has no balls or integrity.

Giggles at 4:28
Craps himself at 5:00

**** Chris Mortensen...and **** Bill Tobin too...trading UP for Trev Alberts...idiot...

It didn't happen for the exact same reason that you are still allowed to post. Ignorance is bliss. You post the dumbest shyt without repercussion or reasoning. So it's not difficult to understand how Deflategate happened.

Mortensen is a hypocritical scumbag. He writes of his strong Christian beliefs but he did wrong, played the victim and never made amends. I hate him intensely

"But Mortensen says he still gets the urge to push back at his critics whenever the topic arises.

Every once in a while someone will tweet something about '11 of 12.,’” he said. “And I want to tweet back, 'No matter what, it was still 11 out of 12.’""

yea like 3 of the 4 Colts balls which were allowed to warm up. Funny how that ass left that out

I read somewhere that they felt the BS witch hunt that was Deflategate to will not age well.
It may have even been a BSPN article.

Just a bunch of entitled trustfund babies that mailed it in during science classes.
They then had to double down on their stupidity and hire Wells/Exponent, shills for corporations like big tobacco and major car manufacturers, asbestos issues....but we all know that.

Found it:
What really happened during Deflategate? Five years later, the NFL's 'scandal' aged poorly

One of the rare instances that I knowingly read something from BSPN. Thanks, it was well worth it.

Should have been 12/12 instead of 11/12 as the IGL math demanded it. Only reason it wasn't was because the balls had never been accurately calibrated to start with (impossible to do so with a $20 gauge) and the timing of the testing allowed some balls to warm up more.

The weird thing about the 2 alleged scandals was the complete lack of f/u on their impact. Since it did not fit the prescribed narrative these facts were just ignored.

Spygate theory - The filming of defensive signals was a huge advantage as Brady "basically knew the defense play calls every down. Once exposed we'll see a major drop in their offensive production" Oops - Patriots went on to have their greatest offensive stretch ever and Brady led team (exclude 2008) to over 500 points a season 4 of the 5 seasons AFTER no longer being able to steal these ever important signals.

Deflategate - 3 years post deflategate with Brady no longer having the advantage of a "softer ball" he goes on to his first ever stretch of 3 straight 100+ QB ratings. Team fumbles would obviously increase significantly as well yet somehow that also never materialized. Tracking other team ball measurements would also prove their treachery yet for some undisclosed reason the NFL has never released them.

He can't reply back because the little wuss blocked everyone that called him out on his bullshyt.

We have a name for this now--FAKE NEWS!

That's been changed. It's now called VERY FAKE NEWS. If you talk to less informed fans we can see that it actually worked though.

The worst part of all about the whole thing is that the NYFL forced one of it's greatest players. and as high a character person as their is in sports, to fight them over a fake scandal for two years, all while his mom (happy mother's day to all of you out here btw) was fighting cancer.

The fact that the Pats won two more SBs made it an easier pill to swallow, but I'll never forget the wrong that was done.

Every year that goes by I get angrier about it too..but for me it's at Kraft. With Spygate it was like fine, just make this bs go away but then they try and pull something like that again and this time they target our franchise player? He should of just blocked it all but he chose his rich buddies instead. Where is Kraft now on this ? Why hasn't he demanded the release of the last few years PSI numbers? A public apology for NE and Brady?

I have been over this for a long time now. Winning 3 more SBs after this ridiculous made up infraction has made me largely not care. That is what has always been so great about the Pats, they always delivered when they were being ripped off by the league.

If Goodell crushes the Pats for the Bengals taping anyway even with no evidence linking it to football ops - we will find out if Kraft learned his lesson.

I also want the Ravens caught “cheating” in Foxboro this year. Doesn’t matter for what I want the Pats to catch them doing something and scream really loud about it. They started Deflategate so let’s see them and 345 Park Ave squirm.
