Schedule to be released tomorrow

The Pats play 3 road games on the west coast in 2020. I know the Pats have played 2 straight WC games - in 08 they went on two back-to-back-game road trips- but has any team played 3 straight road games on the other coast? Wouldn't surprise me if the league does this with the Pats this time.

Doubt we'll get a lot of prime time games but I think Bills-Pats is a good candidate for one SNF game.

Interesting how we’ve yet to see the exhibition games schedule. Normally we get that well in advance of the regular season one.

I seriously doubt that the NYFL will try to help the Pats in any way with the schedule.

Covid doesn’t care when RG says words about home n away...

I remember when reading patsfans whining about Gronk / TEs as annoying. Little did I know...

Football, both college and th NFL, cannot start soon enough.

I have more anxiety about football than any stinkin' virus.

If the NFL is really looking at a 14 game schedule, then it should be pretty easy to tell which two weeks are the "optional" ones. When the lockout put the beginning of the 2011 season in question, weeks 2 and 4 included no divisional matchups and had every team home once and away once. Thankfully those games still happened, because they each gave us a Wilfork interception.

If they take that a step further and specifically put cross-conference matchups in those optional weeks, then it'll be interesting to see if the Patriots are at risk of missing out on the Cardinals or the 49ers at home and the Rams or Seahawks on the road. It could affect things quite a bit if, for example, the Patriots still play the 49ers and Seahawks but the Bills play the Cardinals and Rams.

I've never understood how those matchups are decided.

If 2 teams want to have a joint practice week does the league try to accomodate them?

Does the league prefer at least one localized game every year like NYG/Pats?

If you’re going to drop 2 of the non-conference games then I’d say it would make sense to have the top 2 teams in the AFC East play the top 2 in the NFC West, and the bottom 2 from each division play each other.

I think most of it is out-of-conference games with an emphasis on minimizing travel.

The entire thing should be designed around minimizing time in hotels and restaurants. Regionally based.

I really believe that the fall will not be compromised. Most sports are slated to start up in July which means TC will begin on time. I believe the NFL gets the full season in without fans.

What I am looking for:

1.) AFCE games: I think they will bunch most of them from weeks 5-17...maybe at least 4 games after September in case we need to shorten the season by starting late.

2.) Whether we will get a "double dip" of the games in L.A. vs. the Chargers & Rams.

3.) When we play @ Seattle, @ Houston, and @K.C.?

4.) When we play Baltimore & San Francisco @ Gillette?

5.) When our BYE week is?

6.) What contingency plans does the NFL have in place? (e.g. if 14 games, we probably drop Baltimore and @ Houston which would be an advantage)

SF week 2 home
Weeks 1-4 non conference

This is the kind of schedule that could put the Pats in a 1-5 hole. We know the team tends to start slow anyway. The 49ers defense against Hoyer or JS4 figuring things out. A tough west coast trip plus maybe a third straight road game vs Houston and then the Ravens. Hopefully the team is ready for this.

Pats will be lucky to have 2 prime time games. NFL will put them back into obscurity until they can win with someone other than Brady.

Where do I sign ?!

Im guessing the Bills will be one. Won’t be the 49ers since this leak says Fox. Maybe a MNF game vs Rams just to make it harder.

This is about what I think. Although I do think having “fans” of some capacity will come into play at some point during the season depending on where we’re at.
