Would love to see the speedsters knock out Sanu Meyers

I think Sanu is a lock to make roster. BB loves smart, hard working, tough veterans.

Good news is we can probably stash a WR or two on PS this year given that we have some undrafted talent.

Also there are a lot of young receivers around the league, so teams are less likely to be looking to pluck more young receivers off other teams practice squads. It is a numbers game.

People always poach our rookies.
With Ossenfort leaving us for Cleveland or Houston that will definitely increase the poaching.

I agree however I’m holding out hope a player beats him out I’ve never been a big Sanu fan.

I like Sanu and what he brings to the table on the inside. That being said just for pragmatic reasons someone who has a dead cap hit of 0$ because none of his money is guaranteed should never be assumed to be a roster lock.

It is a fairly interesting situation which has played out with Amendola as well as Dwayne Allen a couple of times where the organization in the end got the player to agree to a paycut with incentives on top (NLTBE for cap purposes) so the player knows all his offseason work is not going to waste but at the same time the team gets some cap relief.

I would be surprised if Sanu goes into the season on his current contract.

I suspect that Sanu will sign a new 2-3 contract, with incentives, as you indicated.

Considering his production last year, making things technically “NLTBE” but in reality probably likely to be earned wouldn’t be too hard.

Patriots Appear To Be Changing Undrafted Free Agent Signing’s Position

Ohio State tight end Rashod Berry is listing himself at OLB on his Twitter profile. Of course Belichick wouldn't let the 6'3", 263 pound guy with 34¾ inch arms and a 38½ inch vertical (in 2017) play on offense. He played on defense in 2016 and also a little bit last year.

I said the same thing about Berry in one of my articles, but Berry is listed as a TE on the Patriots official roster page. Berry has taken down that post where he is listed as a OLB.

What’s the story with Trevon Hill now?! Did he back out or Pats let him go/decided not to bring him in?! Guy looked quite good on tape I watched on him...no info on what’s up with him

Will Hastings tore ACL...went through rehab and came back too early...and TORE it again.!!! The guy is my udfa Binky but feeling like he will have tough time to make it onto roster. Hopefully won’t have any further issues with that ACL too!!!

Had great speed before the ACL. Still ran a 4.51 I believe. Still plenty fast. He’s a prototypical Pat’s slot receiver who is tight with Stidham. IF he stays healthy and has a big camp, I can see him beating out Olszewski.

I can see Hastings being the UDFA that makes the team, I feel he’s the odds on favorite. Though I’d love to see WR Jeff Thomas make it as well. He’s got great speed, which this team sorely misses, especially with Dorsett gone.

Hastings has great speed after the ACL!

Perhaps Hastings will beat out Olszewski for his #5 or #6 WR spot, that is his Practice Squad position.

Edelman, Sanu, Harry, Bryd is plenty for the active squad, given the new rules. However, I expect Lee to be the #5 WR.

Just curious.. Why do you have Hastings over Thomas or Zuber ? Is it just the respective starting point on the depth chart based on his experience with Stidham or did you see something in his highlights that stood out specifically ?

I was surprised to see 4 players with 100K+ guarantees. I'd love to see the guarantees for the rest of the league. I wonder if this is a new strategy on the Pats part, to be more aggressive with UDFA offers, or if this is just their response (in order to compete for their preferred players) to a league-wide trend.

I was surprised by Zuber's (100K) and Murray's (125K) guarantees. Zuber had a disappointing senior season but they must like his potential in the slot. Murray is an interesting guy who seems to have flown under the radar because people were focusing on his name. Very productive career and very athletic for a DT.

I could be way off on this but it seems like a good sign to me that Thomas swallowed his pride and took such a measly signing bonus, even though he is probably the most talented guy on the list, knowing that he lost the benefit of the doubt with his behavior at Miami.
