Pats... tanking? Develin says, "No!"

Develin was underrated. BB loved him. Wouldn’t be shocking to see him stick around in some capacity.

I don’t know if NE will have a good record, but I do believe they’ll be trying their best to win.

Based on what Dev just said it sounds like he has a job if he want it.

Dumbest thought ever for this team.

But fittingly was featured and chatted bigtime by Felgah and maaaz. Click bait .

The whole idea that NE would tank is nothing more than a mediot-generated fantasy because it makes for good conversation fodder.

It is a subject which is very easy to get people riled up, calling in, taking different sides, etc.

Does anybody really want to follow the season when players with smiles on their faces give up games? IMO that would be the most disgusting thing for us - fans.

Bill needs to top Shula in wins still. Bill needs to keep on winning.

Imagine the possibility of tanking even crossing your mind when you've got Bill 8 Rings coaching your squad.

“No tank!!!!!!”

Then why did Bill have his dog make draft picks?

On a related note, I read a couple of Jeff Howe Athletic articles this AM...and apparently:

Sebastian Vollmer has the team record for the bench press: 525 lbs.
Marcus Cannon has the team record for the squat: "North of 700 lbs."
James Develin has the 225 lb. bench press rep record: 49 reps!

Tank is the wrong word but I wonder if BB looks at this as a 2 year project. If he really wanted to make the playoffs this year you could argue that getting fire crotch or Cam might lead to more wins, but developing the kid and playing the long game might be smarter while maybe reducing your win total this season.

I do think there's some strategy going on here, where they want to have as much flexibility in 2021 as possible. But, a large portion of that is also being dictated by their 2020 cap situation. I think they want to win as many games as possible this year, like every year, but their financials are limiting what they can do with the roster changes, and they don't want to sell out any future years for a marginal increase to 2020.

I saw someone tweet that for Belichick, tanking means building a tank.

“Hey, I was there for eight years and like I said before, I hope I am part of the organization in some capacity going forward," he said. "Hopefully I am a Patriot for life.”

The fullback said earlier on a video conference and again Friday he would like to give back to the game by coaching now that he's retired and hopes it's with the Patriots organization.

:crying: I miss you already Develin. Come back soon.

Well bill is high on studham. Hope he’s right on him otherwise it will just set them back some more.
