Gronk says he had Bucs playbook when he was under contract with the Patriots

That's my point. If TB were to take a smelly public dump on the organization I'd be shocked, saddened, etc., but he seems like the stays-in-Vegas type, and of course he has his brand to protect.

Not to mention the fact that we all know what the Patriots did. It's not a secret.

Not buying Gronk's excuse. He had the playbook early. I saw the clip and there's nothing there that made me think he was joking around. He opened his mouth and got caught. Not too bright.

Also makes me start to doubt Brady's excuse for showing up at Leftwich's house with the duffelbags. Personal visit my ass. He wasn't there to pick up the playbook if Gronk already had it. He was there to work out with his OC, against the rules. He ought to know better than this especially if his reputation isn't the best when it comes to following the rules.

Is this controversial? That Brady showed up at Leftwich's house to do whatever? He wasn't working out there either. He can workout anywhere. Doesn't need to work out at that house. I'm sure the duffel bag contained stuff having to do with the Patriots offense.

I root for the laundry.

Brady was the QB here for 20 years. The best 20 years in the history of the league. 9 Super Bowls and 6 wins. Unless you're a vampire who will live 500 years, there's no way to disassociate the guy from the laundry. For a huge chunk of fans (those 28 and under), he was the Patriots for their entire football watching lives. For another set (those 28-38), 2/3rds of their lives. For another, like me, a little more than half their lives.

It's hard to forget half your life.

" Go blue jersey go"

I wanted to see Brady and Gronk succeed anyway, but if they did the reactions by some fans here would be priceless.
I can only speak for myself. While I would enjoy the pair failing miserably, I will not get worked up if they do not. Just the same way I enjoy a good Pats performance while simply turning off the radio when they have a bad week. It's entertainment. That's all. When I am not entertained, I turn off the television. Give it a try.

Disagree. I have never liked Tom Brady. From early interviews that regaled us with tales of his competitiveness (by throwing a video game console at a TV) to his abandoning a pregnant 'girlfriend' to stories about his unwillingness to work with young players (including Gronk) to rumors that he chased Jimmy G. out of town. I don't like the guy. I do not give him credit for the Patriots success. I seem to remember that the snow bowl that started it all was won on the reversal of a Brady fumble and that the guy who secured that game and the championship was a kicker. That guy won a few Lombardis for this team. Guys like Butler and Edelman and James White had something to do with those championships. Never mind Troy Brown and Clock Killing Corey Dillon -- and Antowain Smith who won a championship at home in Houston. Oh, and this guy Rodney Harrison who stayed in the game with a broken arm. Did I mention that the team had a decent coach?

You potatoes who sit on the couch looking for the number on the back of your $100 t-shirt should feel free to root for whatever shirt tickles your fancy. The rest of us know that a lot of players contributed to that dynasty.

As for Mrs. TB12 who sniped that her husband cannot throw and catch the ball, some guy named David Patten Patten ran 29 yards for a touchdown, threw a 60-yard TD pass to Troy Brown and caught two touchdown passes himself, including a 91-yarder, the longest pass play for a touchdown in team history -- all in the same game. JE11 also threw the pass and caught the ball.

Gronk, not doubt a stud TE, contributed very little to the championships. He is a d1ck and I wish him nothing but failure.

Brady left this team. I wish him nothing but failure. Brady was here for 20 years. Were it not for Coach, he probably would never have played a game in the NFL. He's gone. Let's see what the TEAM can do going forward.

I love irony!

Brady will do well. Gronk won't make it to the end of the season on the field.

A true crackhead.
Been peeing in a cup for 34 years. Wrong again, Rookie. Maybe hang around the forums for a while, keep quiet, and learn something.

Just put her on your ignore list. I did and it really is much better that way.

Of course. But there are those of us who think it’s funny that some are absolutely offended that we won’t become Bucs fans and won’t participate in the sour grapes over his departure.

For me I wish him well but that’s about it. His pouting last year and social media and trademark silliness honestly made it easier to get over his departure than I thought it would be. Not my QB anymore.

So you don't like Tom Brady because:

1.) He's overly competitive (truly a terrible trait for a professional athlete to have).

2.) He "abandoned" his pregnant gf, even though Moynahan herself has said that when they broke up neither of them knew she was pregnant, and Tom has been a great dad every step of the way.

3.) "Stories about his unwillingness to help young players." Please cite a single teammate of Tom Brady that has said they don't like him.

4.) Rumors about him running Jimmy G out of town, as if Bill Belichick is going to let a player run the team.

You also go on to say that you give Tom Brady zero credit for the success of this franchise. That is the single dumbest thing I've ever read, and I've been on the Jets message board a time or two.

Now you’re obsessed with me in addition to Brady lol.

And I guarantee more people have you on ignore than me. On this board and in real life.

You took the time to reply to someone that posted something like that, I mean I know we have all the time in the world but come on.

Not any dumber than what I’ve read this week giving no credit to Belichick either. Because he sucked in Cleveland 30 years ago or something. :haha:

If he does well in Tampa just wait till the Brady cheerleaders try to convince us the Patriots would be 14-2 and champs in 2020 if Brady had stayed because 6 rings or something. And I get called the homer for looking at the team from emotion instead of being realistic. Lol

Brady didn't change last year.

He always pouted, if that's the word you want to use. He was also disgruntled. You could see it on the sideline. It's arguably what made him great. Never being satisfied.

Trademark? What? if it's not clear to people by now, Brady has had a team of lawyers and marketers doing the very things these people do for the very top pro athletes. You think Brady is drawing those cartons for Instagram every Monday morning?

If you become this disenchanted over Brady, who easily has the least character issues and is the most humble dude around, you're not going to like what's coming. This guy managed to be the most selfless QB I've ever seen--but he did it over 20 years.

We're homers because we think the greatest player in the history of the league is responsible for all the Super Bowls.

It's a crazy thought, I know.

I am with you. I also hate Michael Jordan (he'd have more rings if he spent less time gambling), Larry Bird (if he cut down on the cigarettes, imagine how many more banners), Ted Williams (I wasn't around, but I hate him just because everyone said he was mean and ornery), Bobby Orr (he should have scored more goals), LeBron James (I agree with Skip, he stinks), Wayne Gretzky (all finesse, guy never checked anyone in his life), Mario Lemieux (many blame his late career poor play on cancer, what a lame excuse). I have little respect for any of these guys.

I don’t think my wording was that clear. I obviously don’t disagree with any of that. I’m only talking about the 2019 Brady. No reason to think the 2020 Brady would be any better if he stayed here. Just funny how many anti-Bill Patriot fans there seems to be.
