Great post. By the way it was Blount who punched the guy. An opponent pushed him and was talking smack and Blount decked him.

Of course. For some reason I thought it was a Pats draftee IA was referring to.

A very reasonable post, which is unusual on this thread. However, if we're looking for racists in sport Ali is right up there.

Certainly not a saint, but forgive me if I cut someone who grew up in America's version of Apartheid some slack as it pertains to their views on the people who instilled and supported said system.

I strongly disagree with the inference that a player can have and demonstrate any beliefs whatsoever, and not be subject to sanction by the team or by the league. There are clearly views that are unacceptable in the NFL and on certain teams in the NFL.

Whether the 3% percenters very radical positions are acceptable is NOT relevant to the current situation. In tee current situation, the player has apologized for his teenage actions and will remove the offending tattoo.

I would agree mgteich, my point wasn't that any belief could be free from sanction. I was speaking about this context only.

He spoke at Klan rallies, because he shared their views on race mixing, he was 100% for segregation, he openly spoke about it many times, saying if a black man slept with a white woman he should be killed, and the same for a black woman who slept with a white man, for being race traitors. As far as I remember he publicly backed a white supremacist in his presidential campaign, can't remember the guys name.

No doubt he lived in a different time and deserves a bit of slack, but his actually held abhorrent views and wasn't shy of sharing them. So for him to be an inspiration to someone while at the same time our new Kicker is being painted as a neo-Nazi is a little rich.

Good for you for finally calling out your racist, fascist and far Left radical hate group brethren ANTIFA.

Tomorrow, steps towards tolerance of non progressives.

lol.........and good for you for calling out other drooling, hate filled, knuckle-dragging bigots

Tomorrow, steps towards tolerance of non assholes

Hair trigger reaction from the left, and Dems wonder why moderates walk the other way as the party cannibalizes itself. Ugly and sad showing. I dislike Trump but his detractors can be just as psychotic.

Justin Rohrwasser's Marshall teammates defend Patriots’ kicker, ‘He’s not a racist. Not even close’

I'm fairly certain I'm very much "the left" and some kid having dumb edgelord politics when he was a teenager is hardly worth noting, the only really stupid thing he did was commit it in ink to his skin. (I don't buy the story that he didn't know what it stood for, because this was 2017 and he was 18 and Google/Wikipedia existed, but I also don't care.) Twitter is going to do what Twitter does. All this argument over what the three percenters are or whatever misses that they're almost entirely just a bunch of people belong to groups that share dumb memes on Facebook and have defined their identity around belonging to dumb groups on Facebook. I don't think they're particularly racist (everything in the US is a little racist and their racial content seems less overt than the average boomer post about Lamar Jackson here), just boring old gun nuts.

I didn't mention Ali to throw another tangent into a thread most locals want to die quickly, so I would invite you to a PM if you want to discuss Ali and complications of him (which are there) in that venue.

I will note however that I have not once in this thread called the Pats Kicker a Neo-Nazi.

Looks like that leaves you out again.

Not your day.

Forum is running like a well-oiled machine.

When I see old clips about Ali saying that stuff I just have to... shake my head.

I hope Donald Trump has a good day today.

What do y’all think about the Israel/Palestine situation? Think they should just nuke Palestine off the map and get it over with? IMO, Palestine is 100% in the fault. Israel has never done anything wrong.

Where are we at on the Holocaust? Pretty bad am I right?

Socialism is for the weak, IMO. Thoughts on Capitalism being the GOAT and the system of the future?
