I’m going to miss Brady but I have become really excited about Stidham

For me, I think the bottom line is that if the Patriots go with Hoyer or any other veteran QB on a cheap, one-year deal (Newton, Dalton, Flacco, etc.), then what happens at the end of the 2020 season? We still wouldn't know if Stidham is "the guy" or not.

Would they have to spend a 1st round pick at QB in the 2021 draft?

Would they have to hit the free agent market?

Playing Stidham in 2020 and seeing if the kid sinks or swims gives the Patriots long-term clarity at the position, and makes it much easier to plan for 2021 and beyond.

I guess it depends if in BB's view the team is win now or not. If he thinks the reset is incomplete maybe they will try to stay competitive with a vet name QB and look closer at Stidham next year.

Not taking a WR was by design. I dont think our offense will operate like the chiefs offense. Its going to be smashmouth football, running the ball adding in some play action. Since stidham is so new, they can't take the training wheels off.
