I’m going to miss Brady but I have become really excited about Stidham

Should really do a running count of how many of your posts are 100% snark and 0% content. The name calling is charming as well.

I'm sorry. Was the crack pipe yours?

Oh, and WOAT!

You hypocrite

Hard saying not knowing.

I can't wait to see our receiving corps catching STDs. (Stidham TouchDowns).

I mean, everything could go right, but anyone assuming it will is basking in the afterglow of the Brady era. I sure hope everything clicks but if it wasn't for the Patriots mystique we'd all be looking at this roster and saying "Yikes."

That said, it'll be exciting to see what happens...

This....I remember the 2008 season being one of my most favorite seasons as a Patriots fan in the BB era. You woke up on Sundays with NO IDEA whether you were gonna win....yet by the season's end...I REALLY wanted to see that team play the Steelers in a rematch.....but only to be denied by a 3rd tie-breaker.....

With Brady at QB, I watched all games...no doubt...but I'd be lying if I said I got "up" for every single game...nah...I got excited when it was a divisional game or a game vs. a huge AFC rival (e.g. Chiefs in recent years...Ravens before that...).

JG was pretty good.
Difference was, JG was horrible in practice, but good in the preseason games. If you add Stidham’s practices AND preseason games, he had the best camp by any rookie since Brady.

Crazy thing is, Skip Bayless was saying last August/September, that Belichick was fast tracking Stidham. I replied to him on Twitter, that he was a moron (he is). But he was kinda right.

I think Belichick saw something in Stidham during camp/preseason. It kinda reminds me of 2001, I forget which book it was in, maybe Patriot Reign, but Belichick felt Brady was better than Bledsoe that year in camp, and was thinking about the QB situation, whether to start Brady over the 10 million dollar man (Bledsoe), the injury to Bledsoe helped Belichick with the decision.

If the Pats were desperate to get Brady signed, well they sure didn’t show that desperation. They had plenty of time to get a deal done (for example: Drew Brees). So I wonder if Belichick saw enough to be comfortable with Stidham as his QB.

Why not?

Devil's Advocate...

Thanks for sharing...

And looks like Stidham missed two 45+ yard bombs for TD's because of the receiver pulling up or a PI call...see 4:38 & 5:42 marks in the video......

Made some clutch throws when being blitzed on third down on a crossing route also. Something Brady struggled with last year.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt about your football knowledge and passion -- something you've never accorded to your many targets -- but you've made a career out of snark and ad hominem attacks that have been instrumental in burying the civility bar deep underground here. Unfortunately, you certainly have a lot of fans who enjoy your trollish antics. Personally, I think you're despicable for all the ridicule and disparagement you continually vomit forth.

really looking forward to watching Stidham play ....no one will ever replace Tom Brady most likely, but Stidham has the potential to be an extremely talented QB for this team and hopefully will be a franchise QB for years to come!

I’m about 6 years younger than Brady so like many my age Tom Brady was not just a football player he was inspiring, a guy who came from no where and turned himself into the best QB in the NFL. I will always be a fan of Brady, and I will follow him in Tampa.

That said, I have followed Stidham in Instagram for a while. He is a good guy, has a smoking hot wife whose father is the CEO of the Rockets and despite them both being good looking and wealthy they’re both humble and pleasant people. They seem to spend a lot of time with David Andrews and his wife, another grounded couple.

So I like Stidham the man, but I wasn’t sure how I felt about him as a QB, so I held out judgement until the draft, I wanted to see how committed we were to him. Today I watched the film on Stidham from preseason, I will tell you what he makes throws that Brady does not make, the ball comes out as and clean, and he seems to have a good decision making. I encourage everyone to watch the video of his throws if they haven’t already. You will be impressed -

It will be interesting to see what Harry and Meyers can do with Stidham. They didn’t do much with Brady but maybe that will change.

Obviously assuming Stidham is the guy.

Not sure why people are bringing up college games like they matter in the NFL. Only thing I've seen from Stidham is him throwing a pick 6 in a blowout game. That's it. I'm more excited about Madden generated qbs than him. Still a fan of this team, but I don't see anything to really be excited about. Would love to be proven wrong, though.

I'm excited to see the reset. It's exhausting in a season having to live and die with each game week to week and we don't need to do that now.

The sample size with Stidham's pick 6 of course doesn't mean a thing. He is far from a guarantee but he has talent, a good arm and very mobile and I can't wait to see that question about him answered.

Honestly, Stud-arm is a first/second round talent that slid in the draft. Always liked the kid; I believe he will prove fools of many..

That's only because the bar was set so high. Every season, you knew we were going to win the East. Every season, you knew we were going to the playoffs. We have a bad game, the media goes, "Uh-oh, dynasty might be over." than we always proved them wrong. Now it really might be over. If that's exciting to you, I don't know what to tell you. I don't wanna be the ****ing Browns, the Jaguars, the Redskins. Fighting for the AFC East title might be our SB for who knows how many seasons now.

Dynasty 1.0 ended with the loss to the Jake Plummer Broncos. Dynasty 2.0 ended when Brady left. Now the foundations are being set for hopefully a Dynasty 3.0. That is exciting to me.

We also still have Belichick, who is chasing Shula for the winningest coach in NFL history. He's 43 wins away from Shula, who publicly called Bill a cheater. So Bill is motivated enough to not let this team crater. The Brady era may be over but I'm confident we will be competitive.

Was Jimmy that bad in practice? I don't remember. I agree that Bill has seen something in JS4 or he wouldn't have sent Hoyer packing last year.

Then you need some re-Stiducation.
