Draft thoughts ...

Was he a Terrell > Seymour guy way back when.
Yes, just like the majority on this board. He had Terrell draft at #7 and Seymour at 20, with the patriots drafting OT Kenyatta Walker.

Our top three safeties all played a lot last year. Dugger should get Harmon's reps. So, I don't see Chung leaving yet. Of course, Chung's playing time could be reduced.

I'd guess Phillips is also ahead of Dugger on the depth chart.

We can argue whether he was BPA for the Pats, but that was a pick taken directly for need first and foremost. Same with Uche. Finally, BB has even admitted in the past that need is factored in.

I think at this point we all can agree that there is no dogmatic BPA or draft for needs way but all factors go into whatever voodoo value equation Ernie came up with using different weights for different variables. And needs are certainly part of that.

Caserio and BB are way too pragmatic to be blindly following narrow philosophies like needs first or BPA.

Best case scenario is when you’re able to take BPA at a position of need. Outside of the first dozen or so the remaining BPA is either arguable or flawed, most likely both. So the choice between BPA and need isn’t binary. Still think Bill will choose the player that best fits his desired characteristics before he will pick at a position of need if the player isn’t a good fit for his desired characteristics.

Yep. But at least that they draft for need, and need is definitely factored in, is getting realized around here. It used to be that the Patriots drafting for need was outright disputed around here.

WHAT WE HEAR: This is a historically deep WR class
WHAT WE THINK: We’ll definitely draft one or two!
WHAT BILL THINKS: UDFA WRs will still give good value this year. Let’s use the draft picks to shore up other areas and sign five UDFAs.

Most mocks I saw were Walker, Terrell and McAllister. Terrell or McAllister were the guys I wanted.

Call it how it is, this draft was terrible and we'll probably be looking back in a few years confirming this. Surprisingly Colin Cowhered, who loved BB, turned on him pretty quickly. BB is usually better at getting impact players when he actually trades up, rather than running away by trading down. I turned off the draft after that legendary pick of Kyle Dugger.

We should wait and see before we kill bill but obviously he won’t have brady to cover draft mistakes with wins anymore. I like the uche pick but i didn’t know he was that injury prone.

The drafts since 2014 have been pretty bad, so the odds are in your favor if you think this draft will be bad.

Brady made the right choice leaving.

Kiper is a twat who is never right with anything he says
Lol. I don't care if he gets every pick wrong, you watch the draft because of Kiper. If it weren't for him, the event doesn't gain the popularity it has.

I'm surprised it ever was but people don't like to go against the grain challenge narratives.

Every team drafts for need though. Some more than others but Bill definitely drafts when value meets need imo. You can look at his older drafts, recent ones. Hard to ignore.

Idc about Kiper but this is true. He's like Mayweather, you tune in to hate him. And folks haven't figured out that "hating" these guys only prompts them up higher. They don't care about being right bc no one calls them out or cares to remember. Much easier and more fun to make fun of his hair. Kiper does know his stuff, he's not dumb. I would like to see how good he really is though.

Whoa, them mean words from a guy who changes his opinion on anything and everything according to which way the wind is blowing.

I'm not sure I agree that Kiper knows his stuff. He only repeats the common consensus. I can't recall him actually having insightful analysis on anyone that wasn't readily available elsewhere.

I've always thought that Felger and Mazz show just spewed provocative things to get ratings but I've come to realize that all three of the guys on that show are dumb, including Felger, and just have no idea what they're talking about.

Today they are trying to make the argument that BB traded out of the first round just to stick it to the fans who hate it when he trades out of the first round, took a DB in the second round just because everyone has been criticizing him for his second round DB picks and didn't take a WR just to stick it to Brady and intimate that "it wasn't the receivers it was you" (ie. passed on a receiver(s) he normally would have taken just to spite Brady).

It's absolutely absurd to actually believe that BB makes player personnel choices based upon what anyone else thinks or how they will respond to the pick. They have become unlistenable, although still not as unlistenable as that miserable puke Adam Jones.

It is offensive to me as a sports fan that they actually make no effort at all to educate themselves about the sports they are covering. Given that all sports are shut down right now, you would think that and they would take their job seriously and use all of that extra time during the day and in the evening, when they typically would've been watching other sports, to do some research about the potential draftees. How hard is it to have the station buy you a copy of two of the better draft guides and learn in detail about a couple of the positions every week. It makes me sick that these people are making good money despite having no intimate knowledge about any of the sports they are paid to talk about.

Pat Kirwin (of Sirius/XM's Moving the Chains program on the NFL channel) himself says that teams draft for need..."This is a needs-based business now..."

If teams didn't draft for needs, then you would see more cases such as two Safeties as your first two picks of a draft...or taking another RB when you have literally Nobody at TE...you know, stupid sh!t like that...

I would have taken Baylor WR Denzel Mims at 37.

Now Stidham is screwed. No speed at the perimeter for how many years now?

No WRs taken; that is a GOOD THING! BB cannot be trusted to draft a WR. This is a solid draft.
I like it!

BB will find some WRs through trades or the waiver wire....
