The stat isn't racist, but the way it's derived is. Those numbers come from who the police choose to arrest and who the courts choose to convict. Couldn't possibly be any bias in there.
So I take it that those of you who have such a huge problem with this kid will hereby quit rooting for the team, right? I mean it’s hard to see where so many of you could put aside such a big part of who you are and root for a violent white supremacist (and likely a chauvinist pig as well) and the coach who drafted him.

Most of this is fair but the last paragraph, especially, is hogwash. 16 pages of this thread proves that to be wrong. The heat Brady took from this very fan base for having a MAGA hat in his locker proves that to be wrong. Everyone loves freedom of speech... until said speech offends them.To be honest Kontra I don't see many people at all in this thread who have a huge problem with him.
There might be 2 people in here who have said they don't want him on the team (and I don't recognize one of their usernames).
There are people who don't like what the 3%er group stands for but they aren't advocating for him being cut. The worst they're saying is that he needs to understand that his decisions are going to be under a bright spotlight and he has to be prepared for that.
The most vocal contingent are the FCB types who are like "can't wait to see how bad the libs are gonna get triggered." It feels like a straw man. They are putting up this imaginary argument saying how upset we all are when really most people acknowledge that football players are going to have a variety of political opinions and you're deluding yourself if you think everyone on the Patriots will be on your side politically. It's the same thing with Nick Bosa, people have this fantasy that all the libs in the Bay Area hate him when I've never heard anyone say that out here, mostly due to how good he is.
In reality I think people on the right get much more upset when players have left-leaning opinions than the other way around.
The nerdglasses kicker blew a 42 yarder to tie South Carolina in OT at home last yearBelichick is probably the best special teams coach in the league by far, so who cares that we didn't draft the well known Georgia nerdglasses kicker

Or blindly accuse him.....based on what party you vote for.Just want to point out that just because we drafted him doesn’t mean you have to blindly defend him
Pats had a kicker last several years who missed some kicks....but overall he was pretty dam good! The nerdglasses kicker blew a 42 yarder to tie South Carolina in OT at home last year
There are times when I thought BB was so smart the rest of the world was too dumb to understand (Tavon Wilson was not in anyone's 2nd round).
The kicker selection makes no sense in any scenario. He was not on anyone's radar. Unless NE told him ahead of time, he probably choked on his lunch when his name was announced.
What's it say bout the 3 OLinemen and the MLB we drafted after the kicker?
Because Kap picked the wrong vehicle to relay his message. Take to Facebook, do TV shows and interviews....organize demonstrations! Incorporating the anthem and the flag was the wrong way to go!! Because what they stand for and the amount of people who died defending it was much bigger than his cause. But my point is that there isn't that much in the 16 pages of this thread crushing the kid for the tattoo. It's people talking about Kaepernick and such and arguing whether the 3%ers are racist not.
I agree Brady took heat from the left wing but it wasn't even close to what Kaepernick got, and continues to get, from the right. Kaepernick isn't even in the league anymore and people are still melting about him in this thread. When was the last time you saw someone talk about Brady's hat on this board? How often does it come up now, three times a year?
Everyone deserves a second chance. The kid has acknowledged poor judgment in getting the tattoo and although I do not believe that he did not know what the tattoo meant, it is obvious to me that there is no evidence at all that he is a racist or bigoted.
I reacted at first thought to the tattoo, probably too quickly. I am not certain what the organization is all about and the kid deserves the benefit of the doubt, until proven otherwise.
I hope the kid will be embraced by his team mates (tattoo and all) and will do well for the Patriots.
I also hope the Pats did their homework and that no twitter posts within the past 6 months appear that will embarrass the organization.
