Agreed. But we only had so many draft picks. The biggest holes on defense and offense were covered. Yes, wr is still a hole. But the other holes were holier.
And with strong pass and run blocking and some threat of a run game, Stidham will have much more success throwing
when the box is stacked than w/o having those assets. Yes, in a perfect world would be better to have a few more weapons at wr. But on paper, Stid has a stronger offense to work with than Brady did last year.

I am not asking for a dew more weapons at WR...I am asking for one.

Why not trust the genius that is in charge and has won more than anyone ever has?

That genius drafted Harry in the first round, and he hasn't drafted a quality WR for 18 years (I'm not counting a QB conversion, but even then it's only one).

I know the Iowa contingent of the 6-10, whiny twat brigade is simply attempting humorous shtick. Kudos on the attempt, I guess.

But assuming the others are serious, I get the desire for the shiny toy when the only names you know are the WR's and QB's in the draft. And I agree that 6-10 may happen. I am ok with that. Welcome to being like the other 31. This team got old and had some weak drafts recently. For the first time since 2001, I have no expectations of a SB run. It's a rebuilding year. Anyone with a clue can see the resemblance to 2000, 2001.

If the 2020 team makes a SB run, I will be as shocked as I was in 2001. But how can all of you be so miserable about it? Even expecting a mediocre record this year, I am so intrigued to watch the young QB, the young defensive athletes from this draft, the young talent from last year's draft. As a football fan without a pink hat, I am really looking forward to this season. Hell, my fingernails and heart rate will enjoy the season off!

BB is trying to build a young and nasty D. Love it. We are going to see a lot of formations with FB and TE. How many times are we going to see more than 2 WR's on the field next year? But we are doomed to 5-11 because we didn't pick a WR in the 2nd round??? It's going to be a 2001 offense. It's frustrating, but I'm one of those idiots who enjoyed the last SB win.

Loved the defensive picks in this draft!

AND.. Last, but not least.. Mr. Irrelevant.. (drum roll)
GIANTS - Tae Crowder - LB - Georgia

I bet you were *****ing and moaning because Marquise Hill couldn't beat out Seymour, Warren, and Jarvis Green for playing time.

I bet you were *****ing and moaning that White wasn't getting playing time despite the injuries to Ridley and Co.

You just sound bitter and ignorant.

You sound like a guy who is oblivious to the fact we don't have even have an avg WR in his 20's, and we haven't drafted a decent one in 18 years.

You don't understand. That's all Brady. BB's ineptitude held back the GOAT. With a decent coach/GM Brady would have had 10-20 superbowl wins.

There's no bigger Brady fan on this forum than myself.
There's also no bigger Belichick fan on this forum than myself.
They are the greatest NFL player of all time and the greatest NFL head coach of all time.
There's no 2 individuals in the 60 year history of this franchise who've had a bigger positive impact.
There are a few posters here who are " it was all Brady" as well as a few who are " it was all BB". Both groups can't be taken seriously. They're all basically retahds.
Both GOATS would've still been GOATS w/o each other.
But together they made history.
Yes, I defer to BB who's always said "players win games coaches lose them".
It's more true than not. But coaching matters much much more in the NFL than any other sport. And it's not close.
We wouldn't have won 6 SBs w/o BOTH of them.

A 2001 offense in a completely different NFL geared toward high powered offense? Great Idea

I predict BB will sign WR Will Hastings as an UDFA.

He played with Stidham at Auburn in 2017. And he's also white...

EDIT. And he started as a walk on kicker, how's that for versatility.

Good call!

i agree belichick is the greatest coach of all time. No one better in game planning, on field coaching, scheming, motivating, etc.

I do think he is terribly overrated as a GM by patriots fans. Sometimes he can’t get out of his own way.
Read “War Room” by Michael Holley, just goes to show you Belichick has made some odd choices in draft room over the years going against his scouting departments wishes.

Yeah like all the Patriot scouts thumbs down on Laurence Maroney but Josh McDaniels' kid brother coached him in Minnesota so we waste a first rounder on Maroney and later Chad Jackson. That isn't Belichick, that's him listening to terrible assistant coach talent evaluators. Thankfully we drafted Gronk while McDaniels was destroying Denver.

“6-10. May happen I’m ok with that”

I’m not ok with it. We should have had a plan in place to still compete hard for the divison once Brady left. Some here think we still can, but I think our offensive skilled position players are the NFLs weakest.

We should have, we should have. Let's say I agree with you. It's the past, it's done. Dare I say, it is what it is.

Based on observing what is happening in the present, this is a rebuilding year. So, no, a 6-10 season won't pucker my arsehole. I could whine about the last 5 years of drafting, I suppose. But I choose to get goosebumps over the 3 more rings during those years and recognize it's time to turn the page.

Build a monster D is a-o-****ing-k to me.

But please tell me, without complaining about the past championship years, which WR could BB have drafted today to prevent this upcoming 6-10 disaster?

Yep, I made up the degenerative knee condition. He's great. I love RBs that run with a limp.
Please list how many times he's been on IR for said knee condition in the NFL.

I’m not a big fan of McDaniels at all. The best assistant BBs had with him recently is Brian Flores who is sadly gone.

Every coach/GM makes odd choices at one time or another....and sometimes the odd picks turn out to be ProBowlers

This quest for draft perfection you are on is absurd

Trade up a few spots from 23 to draft Jeudy , Jefferson, or Lamb. All studs who can beat man coverage
