I had the right idea that we'd move up for an OL. @BaconGrundleCandy was right that we'd go back to a school we'd drafted from previously. Welcome aboard, Onwenu! Big boi.
13 times we've drafted teammates now. You can almost count on it.

INDY - Jordan Glasgow - LB - Michigan

This draft is a masterpiece in making mad the Pats fans who are always mad anyway. Just *Chef’s Kiss*

And here I used to think rounds 5-7 were like watching paint dry. Silly me! Comedy gold!

Whining aside, let's take a little bit longer view on things. The roster aged-out and needs youth throughout; you can argue that literally every position group needs youth. Last year's draft started the transition with nine draftees still on the roster.

But, BB wasn't filling every hole this year even with last year's and this year's picks. The Pats would have needed about 15 picks in the first three rounds this year for that. Instead, he got younger and faster on defense, built OL depth (which killed us last year), and double-dipped TE, which everyone lost their minds over last year.

Play defense, power football this year and let Stidham learn how to manage the game. In next year's draft, maybe they double-dip WR or NT or some other position group that needs help.

They weren't exchanging the oldest roster for the youngest in one or two years. Let's wait and see how the transition works out. I think they've earned a little patience from the fan base.

it's the usual story. they haven't watched him but are experts.

Except I have watched him. And read a lot about him. I go back to him in high school because he was a top recruit at one point.

Hes massive and strong but hes not very mobile. Had the Steelers or Titans taken him, he's a worthwhile risk. Just dont see it. Hes battled weight issues and maybe if he continues to shed more, it unlocks more mobility. But what I saw in college, hes not a great fit.

I'm not part of the crowd that knocks every pick. I like Herron better than I like Onwenu for this system. I've been wrong before, of course, but just don't see it.

Looks like your making your case to advance in the bracket.

After the debacle vs Tennessee, I figured I'd remind you guys what advancing in a tournament looks like. We're not going to be seeing it for a while.

Here's my idea about why we aren't drafting WR. Our WR depth chart entirely isn't bad - we have a lot of guys there, even some young guys. We just have underwhelming top 3 guys. Right now, the room would be Edelman, Sanu, Harry, Myers, Byrd, Lee, Olszewski. 3 of those guys were drafted/undrafted last year. To draft a player this year, we would need an upgrade over any of those players (with a year of experience). Otherwise it's a wasted roster spot. Honestly, the idea now should be trade for a higher-end WR who could top off the depth chart rather than add more bodies through the draft who have no means to contribute.

How that is not bad?

SEA - Freddie Swain - WR - Florida

He played at 368. He weighed in at 344 at the combine. Losing a bit of weight can make him more mobile.

Sorry just saw this. Definitely would have liked to take a shot at a WR in these late rounds but options were limited by then.

Amazing, Bill lol'd at the whole "Great WR class"

Didn't follow much but from what i was watching last days the top was ok, maybe even great but after that it soon looked like UDFA territory from last year.

It will be interesting to see who they bring as udfas and how successful will they be luring them wo TB..

Patience?

Not the Whiner Bowl Elite 8

They want their meatloaf now.

Round 7 (Final Round)
CINCY - Markus Bailey - LB - Purdue

It's either a "Bad draft" or a "Draft where they successfully flooded areas of need".

Either way, we've now seen the absolute destruction of the "BB never drafts for need" nonsense.

Who will win?
Agreed with others. We need a thread in the pub forum. Find a few others for 12 posters and let's put odds on it.

WAS - Kamren Curl - S - Arkansas
