very good pick. This kid is an absolute stud.

A high second round pick on a special teams demon! Ugh!

maybe the dog did make this pick and not bb!

He will start for the Patriots this year. ST is a bonus, he is a terrific safety prospect.

I hope you are right, but in coverage he can not change direction well, he not natural opening the hips to turn and he was not that great covering d2 receivers.

can you imagine if he has to cover sec receivers like chase, Judy, Ruggs, Jefferson, Edwards, etc.

That would be uglier than a woody Johnson family reunion!

I think he plays special team’s for a year and he and joejujuan battle for chung’s starting spot in 2021. The loser of the battle is the back up and plays special teams.

I like so much the pick. Ashtyn Davis and Kyle Dugger were my favourites at the position. Watch his tapes,he is a real deal. A small school does not mean he cannot play. Once again - this kid versatility, aggressiveness and tackling ability is impressive.

Another 2nd round DB Bust. Love him as a coach, think he needs to be replaced as a GM.

Bingo.

Do you know literally anything about the guy? Neither do I. The people who have watched him do like him.

@reamer

I wonder if Duggar qualifies as a 3-sigma athlete. His numbers are v similar to Byron Jones if you use the 6.7 3-cone listed earlier and his size and athleticism match Melifonwu both of whom are 3-sigma athletes. It wouldnt be official because that 6.7 3-cone wouldn’t be, but he must be borderline.

For those that don’t know, 3-sigma athletes are the rarest of rarest NFL athletes. The 1/1000. Up to 2017, JJ Watt, Evan Mathis, Calvin Johnson, Byron Jones and Obi Melifonwu were the only 3-sig guys in the NFL around that time.

From what I've read in the last hour, he was 5'6" graduating high school, and this college was the only one to offer him a scholarship. He freakin' grew 6 INCHES in college. He'd probably have gone to Tennessee or Georgia is his growth history were more normal.
If he grows another 6 inches with the Patriots, he will solve our tight end problem.

Drafted 5 hours ago and he’s a bust already. Crazy
I guess the failure of past 2nd round DBs have left people to just automatically discount any 2nd round DB picked by Belichick. Was I surprised that they picked Dugger ahead of guys who played at bigger schools like Winfield or Delpit? Sure. But Dugger was projected to go somewhere in the second round. That's no Jordan Richards or Tavon Wilson (who really carved out a nice career for himself in Detroit) type of reach.

Doesn't really matter to me if he comes from Alabama or where he comes from. That also wasn't the issue recently. We just didn't draft good enough players. This guy is very, very good. He will be able to cover a ton of ground in a hurry and with some coaching and patience will become a top level safety. Probably my favorite pick in the last 5 years.

Damn, I too was 5'6" graduating high school. 7 years later, still 5'6"...

you must be the tallest person....in the shire.

He better be a stud Belichick. Felt liked the Jordan Richards nightmare all over again when they called his name.

Richards isnt on the same planet athletically as Dugger.

Belichick liked Richards football IQ above all else. Just the fact it was a DB I’ve never heard of in the 2nd made me pretty uneasy.

I understand. All we can do is hope he pans out.

Just saying when Richards was chosen my immediate reaction was his athletic measurables were not fitting for his draft status. That's not the case with Duggers.

Weird how much heat BB takes for his secondary acquisitions as I am not sure any other team in the NFL has brought more secondary talent into the NFL in the past 6 or 7 years.

Logan Ryan
Duron Harmon
Justin Coleman
Darryl Roberts
Malcolm Butler
Jonathan Jones
JC Jackson

There is no argument that there have been numerous failed 2nd round picks but it's not as if the secondary has been some ongoing team weakness.
