Ok I'm sorry but they are playing the emotional card WAY TOO FUC KING MUCH. It's starting to really grate on me. I'm not downplaying other people's suffering but I'm sick of this tragedy porn every 5 minutes.
For an event that was propped up as “an escape from the tough times we are all going through” they’re doing their damndest to make us as sad as possible.

They're not that bad. Overstatement.

There aren't any superstars, or sure things. But there certainly are guys with talent. Over the years, tight ends have come from different places. George Kittle, Jack Doyle, Cameron Brate, Delanie Walker, Darren Waller.... all guys off the top of my head that were day two or undrafted that have found success. Find a kid with some talent, then it's up to coaching and opportunity. I dont think you're going to find 10 starting tight ends from this draft, but tjere certainly are guys with talent.
^^^THIS^^^

So much is being given the opportunity and development to maximize talent. I’m not going to call anyone out in particular, but posts about lack of upside and such totally miss the fact that there are very very few stars who are supremely talented (think Randy Moss) and lots that are the result of lots of hard work and taking advantage when opportunity is given (think Rob Ninkovich).

I’ve been thinking about this reading the subthread about Gunner Olzewski. I think he has the potential to be a star in the making, because he has the work ethic and Belichick will give him the opportunity.

Find a kid with talent. It doesn’t have to be overwhelming talent, just enough to perform when given the opportunity. Hope there are some TE and OL prospects still remaining that fit that recipe as well.

Ok

I specifically stated hes not uncuttable. I never used the word lock, or even likely to make the roster.

I said that Sanu, Harry, and Edelman are locks. Meyers has a good shot. With Slater, that's 5 guys. As such, I don't see us double dipping at WR. 1 rookie plus those 5 likely comprise the receiving Corp, leaving Olszewski, Lee, and Byrd on the outside looking in.

I’m sure the Youngstown chamber of commerce is living ESPN right now

I guess the Raiders are doing a WR-only draft

Great "Swiss Army Knife" player to Raiders, Lynn Bowden. Went pretty much where predicted (pick number-wise). Another one I'd like to have seen at #87.

How is he easier on the wallet? These picks are slotted.

Clearly Belichick preferred Dugger over Delpit and Winfield.

I suppose one option would have been to pass over Dugger, take a higher regarded player, than hope that Dugger, Ashtyn Davis or Chinn were around at the early 3rd.

But then you couldn't trade up for Uche.
Just an opinion but I think bb sees dugger as the prototypical s/lb hybrid that is perfect for his nickel base.
If you look at the way he uses Chung, dugger is better equipped physically for that role. Remember the end of Rodneys career when he would safety blitz 20 times a game? He hasn’t had someone who can do that since.
We are jumping way way far ahead here because the dude has to get on the field and play but I see the vision of this guy as a game changing piece to the structure of the d.

Raiders take WR Bryan Edwards with their second of two consecutive picks

Jesus 3 WRs for the raiders

With WRs, you hit on 1 for every 3 taken. This is why the Steelers draft 2 every year. I should hope that 2 of the 13 picks are WRs this year, because they need one usable young receiver very very badly.

How many picks have involved a player where they don’t mention some horrid death, tragedy, or other unfortunate situation?

Zack Cox
@ZackCoxNESN
3m

We're closing in on the next Patriots pick (No. 87) and every non-Kmet tight end is still on the board. I think Adam Trautman would be a great fit if he falls. Other possibilities: Harrison Bryant, Albert Okwuegbunam, Devin Asiasi, Hunter Bryant, Brycen Hopkins

The spirit of Al Davis appears to have followed the Raiders to Vegas. . . .

I'd have plucked my eyes out before watching this draft.

Ruggs, Bowden and Edwards. The Raiders have added some serious weapons this draft
