DRAFT Pick 37, Patriots Select Safety Kyle Dugger (Division2)

I would have liked this pick more, but I just found out he's 24, in addition to playing in D2. Not a lot of development time left for him. Has to come in and make contributions on defense ASAP.

Considering the defense needs more work upfront i didn’t like the pick. I will give a chance but how much is this guy gonna play? You have Chung . Joejuan?

LMAO. BB is intentionally trolling at this point. Trades out of the first and his next pick is a divison II safety in the second round that nobody has heard of.

Ok, if the only players you've heard of are those discussed as first round picks, so be it. Duggar is NOT an unknown.\, and is rated by many as a 2nd round talent. I would not that after Duggar, there was a run on safeties.

1) The patriots needed a young safety who will likely need to start in the next year or so.

2) There were several; safeties picked in the early second.

3) Duggar was one of those rated a top second round safety (or a 1-2).

4) Belichick LOVES safeties.

5) Belichick picked his choice at safety.

I don't see the mystery.
=====
BOTTOM LINE
Duggar was NOT a reach.

If you didn't already know that about him, you don't know enough about him to comment and be taken seriously.

It was a joke, tight ass (wasnt sure I even attempted to convey knowledge about him). Congratulations on the prediction, though.

The amount of clowns that never watched this prospect play a down ... Then turnaround and complain about the pick is fascinating.

Like you literally haven't watched him or even heard of him (both your own fault) and will still complain is something. Just proves most people need to ***** about something.

Dude was a consensus 2nd round pick and was someone talked about in the 1st at times.

Why did they draft joejuan williams? Now you’re hyping this kid up. Give me a break. How much playing time is he gonna get? This team needs players that can make an impact. Another safety in crowded backfield is not it.

Medical redshirt IIRC.
Correct in 2016 I believe. Think he played 2 games? Anyway I'm not bothered by it in the 2nd. Age/injury.

Bill has been searching for this type for like 10 years.

Still plenty of talent on the board

I like that he’s a head hunter. I’ve been banging the table for one here since 2008.

Meh. This team has other pressing needs. The secondary wasn’t a problem here. There’s other bigger needs on this team.

You're just upset. Probably bc you haven't heard of him?

The DB room will look 100% different in 2021.

Williams & Dugger play different positions.

By bad. Retracted. I am in level 5 Belichick defense-mode right now.

Not a fan of this pick but that’s just typical of us. He is 24 and probably the 5th best safety in the draft. We have bigger needs and could have got a young safety on day 3. Disappointed but not surprised by this.

Kyle Digger

Explosive burst in zone-underneath-backfield. Big time clean up hitter. Brings that tone setter attitude.

Big time burst acceleration & speed.

Reliable tackler. Loves contact but won't sell out. Secure reliable here.

Has the agility, hips & speed to keep up with TEs. Has the hips to move throughout the MOF.

Big time leader on that D. Wants to be the man by example.

Big time combo of athleticism smart versatility. You'll see him in nickel, box Defender, linebacker and he has some range to play deep at times.

Great closing speed and lateral agility in movement. You'll see him how to spy, maybe hang Defender. This is somebody that you can move all over in a pinch and really not worried about.

Small school guy the dominated when stood up at every glance. That's exactly what you want in a small school player. Very little hesitation really gets from A to B quick. Good instincts and reaction.

Again think box/hang defender. A Menace In The Box, in that shallow area. He has the athleticism, speed to cut off those quick angles you see backs trying to get to.

I wish you was a bit more decisive at times. He could be a little more decisive imo.

Has to clean up his initial footwork coming off a play, coming down hill if you. Sometimes he's a bit late, a bit slow.

Not many glaring holes. Just have to find a home clean up a few things and he should be good to go. DMC and Chung are perfect mentors.
Since mods decided to merge with a cluster**** ...

Would have been nice if you were this quick to bounce the trolls out my old thread

You can find safeties. This team has issues upfront defensively. How much playing time you think he will get in 2020. Tell me?

Harmon is gone, Chung slowing and oft injured. When he went out, they had no replacement.

I was familiar with him from the Senior Bowl. I never thought in a million years they’d take him in the 2nd, though. I hope he breaks the dry streak of 2nd round DBs this team has been on.
