So which RB does BB take in the draft? I really haven’t heard this mentioned much..

Disagree, unless they get creative. The Texans have only two picks in the top 100. If the patriots are going to move down 10+ spots, they should do it with the team that is well-stocked with pics in the second and first half of the third round.
Would Obrein be dumb enough to trade Watson or William Fuller

First beer, might be messy by the time the Pats pick comes around.

I do this every year. I usually have a draft party with my friends. Can't this year so I am doing the party for my wife and kids. Ordering pizza, mozzarella sticks, wings.
Have a blast. Family is what it is all about. I normally analyze the draft every year. Get all the Draft guides. This year I was so busy I did no draft preparation what so ever. I will be following you tonight to gauge my excitement of who may be on the board that would be a fit for us. Who are your top 3?

If there's a fast undersized zero-trucking-ability RB like Maroney and Sony Michel, you can bet that McDaniels is drooling over him.

I wouldn't exactly call either of those guys fast.

To (A) by trading Brady

To (B) by having ... um, "nerves" of brass

This is Bill Belichick we're talking about. (And, yes, it's speculation -- but it fits the facts.)

No it doesn't. If he traded Brady, he would have had $14M in dead cap from Brady in 2018, and that's before re-signing Garoppolo and adding a replacement.

The simplest explanation is that they drafted Garoppolo to be QB2, with the potential to be the QBOTF, not the expectation he would be.

Plus Lynch himself said he made the offer. There's no point in him making that up.

Was trying to be polite but you're right. Basically a highlight-reel fake star with zero trucking ability. Josh McDaniels' draft kryptonite. That and WRs who have zero route running ability but look like physical specimens.

In terms of testing/profile ... It was Taylor, Kelley, Akers, Perine & Dillion.

Akers is really interesting. Dog **** OL, coaching & almost everything else at times.

Maybe #2 rec RB behind CEH? If not 2 he's up there. Monster in pass pro at times. Idk I'd take a shot Rd2 for him, Taylor, JK, even CEH.

Sorry. I can't remember Brady's contract situation. Had he been traded *before* the 2017 league year, how much signing bonus was there still to amortize? Garoppolo was under contract for 2017, if I recall correctly, so they'd have been able to eat a good deal of Brady's dead money during that season before having to give Garoppolo starter money.

This rumour was disputed by Tom Curran, Mike Girardi, and the 49ers themselves.

The real story, according to John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan, is Lynch asked for Garoppolo during the 2017 offseason and Belichick said no. Lynch then asked for Brady and got laughed off the phone. The day before the 2017 trade deadline Belichick called Shanahan and offered Garoppolo for a 2nd.

What Shanahan, Lynch said on 2017 49ers-Pats trade talks

On Taylor, feel like 50 times bitten, 51 times shy on Wisconsin skill guys. I know you're not supposed to scout the helmet, but can't help it.

I like him the best out of the bunch of Wisky RB's but that's not saying much.

Jesus remember when Carolina was paying Williams & Stewart? Random I know but days have sure changed.

You think Bill wishes he could go back in time and take Lamar Jackson instead of Sony Michel?
We don’t win SB 53 without Sony. He didn’t have a great year last year, but had a GREAT 2018. He may never be a great back, but I’d make that selection EVERY time because we won a championship.

Dobbins, Swift, and Taylor would have been top-15 picks a decade ago. Pundits would have been calling this a historical running back draft. AJ Dillon would have been a high 2nd, "shades of Toby Gerhart." Now you can those guys in the late 2nd or 3rd and it's almost kind of come back around where it's probably a steal after a certain point.
