Who do the Pats select with the 23rd overall pick?

my preference is not to pick a similar type to Stidham. For example, is Jordan Love really an upgrade on Stidham? But, I am intrigued by Jalen Hurts. Sufficiently different type to Stidham, soneone you’re forced to build an offense around and just think McDaniels might want another shot at a Tebow-type experiment.

Question though. Are you really that high on Stidham?
No I'm not, at all...But...Not one of the QBs this year not named Burrow, Herbert or Tagliavola are any better than Stid...none of 'em....So why waste a precious asset on somebody who has no chance whatsoever to be better than the one we already have, at a position where only one can play at any time?
Use whatever pick you are thinking of using on a QB (or RB, Kicker...) and instead use it on some help for the guy we already have to maximize his chances - however remote - of success...If Stid the Kid's a Stud, then terrific let's go!...if he's not, then we will have a much more favorable draft position (because if Stid sucks then the Pats will too) to acquire a QB better than Any outside of the aforementioned top 3...
Sign a UDFA & a vet street FA for camp arms, see what we have in Stid & Hoyer this year, then re-evaluate one year from now...

That’s a very logical argument I find tough to disagree with. Like I said, Hurts is my one exception to that logic. I just think there’s the potential for an interesting dynamic on offense with him.

Trade down imo if Herbert and Tua are gone after 10 picks. Get more for less, with more draft picks means more opportunities to fill needs.

Not impressed with Jordan Love. His turnovers increased from 2018 to 2019. Stidham is more of a fit than Love would be.

Can't give up on Stidham after one year. I can't see us drafting a WR in the 1st in back to back years. TE talent isn't there in the 1st. DL maybe if one falls. DBs are not a pressing need. OL is my default go to in the 1st round and Cesar seems like the obvious choice.

Yetur Gross-Matos, please!

Nobody. They'll trade down to the 30s and draft Cole Kmet.

I'm getting that feeling myself. I'm good with Kmet. He is not a finished product, and I don't know if he's worth a top 25 pick. But, he's a good player that still has untapped potential. True junior, just turned 21. 2 sport guy, so he hasn't focused solely on football for very long. The body control at his size is Gronk-esque. Hes not a freak athlete with blazing speed, but he has great control of his massive frame and that will make him a very good blocker and very good red zone threat in time. While I do like some of the other TE's, he's a cut above the rest of the pack IMO.
