Gronk trade completed

Gronk is the best TE of all time. First ballot Pats & NFL HOFER. Will get his jersey retired.

But...this is a greasy move. It seems to me that this was preplanned. Him and Brady have both been drama queens the past few years.

The dude has been through a lot of pain for this team. I say he can do whatever he wants and let's just enjoy him in action once again.

I hope the year of rest has helped him

  1. For years, Belichick paid Gronk less than he was worth, and then was going to ship him off to Detroit.
  2. Gronk left the sport for an entire year, rather than play for the Patriots again.
  3. Belichick was playing money and years games with Brady's contract, while not giving him better players around him.
  4. Belichick had years to give Brady a legit multi-year deal and focus on improving the offense. He chose to string Brady along year-to-year, and to spend most of his effort on the defense.
But, sure, demonize Gronk and Brady. It's silly, but go for it.

Embarrassing really!

You have *got* to be joking....
It makes no sense for the Colts to have tanked considering management and coaching staff got cleaned out. Unless Irsay back stabbed them, and if he did, nobody has said a peep.

Yesterday my choices during my workout was listen to the Trump campaign commercial or Adam Jones, I listened to Adam Jones. My god, is there a more insufferable person on the radio? Well, maybe Trump.

Adam Jones is a 2nd rate, thigh-high, troll.

I thought you'd still be basking in the afterglow if the Chiefs Super Bowl win. Why you slumming with the common folk?

A year of rest might help Patastic. One can only hope. Lol

Colts completely stunk when Manning was out because their QB situation was horrific. Painter basically never played again after that season while Cassell went on to a few good years and a very solid journeyman career. If Stidham has a comparable year to Cassell did in 2008 the Pats should be in good shape this year. If Stidham is as bad as Painter was then the Pats will likely be a 5 win team.

Buffalo owns the division and Miami is coming up they looked good as is end of the year

interesting choice of words, had huffalo won hte division the las18 of the last 20 years? no that would be the pats, I stand by what i said, i am not ready to concede the division, Barfalo may be the biggest threat but its buffalo

Funny stuff. Marley's been helping to keep my sanity through the pandemic.

Someone in this very thread literally said that he believes Brady threw last season and tanked it. Others are saying they hope he loses every game. People have called him a diva and a primadonna on here for the last two seasons since he first started skipping OTAs. That's not loyalty. That's trashing someone. Now, if you want to do that, feel free. It's a free country and people are entitled to say what they believe. But let's not act like that's loyalty. But you're already walking that back with your next point in this post, so I expect you know that your original take was a brain dead one, as per usual.

Not short-sighted at all. The dude won us 6 Super Bowls and took less money than he was entitled to in order to help Bill build the team. He's now on a different team. The Patriots aren't playing the Bucs this year. As such, I wish him nothing but the best and hope he wins as much as possible to further improve his legacy unless the two teams play one another in the Super Bowl, which probably isn't happening this year. That's actually being oriented toward transcendence, as a fan. You're not there. That's understandable. But don't say you're loyal to a player who achieved a ton of success for this franchise while, in the very next sentence, say you're spiteful toward him. Those two things cannot coexist with one another.

Not the entirety, but a significant portion of the fan base, as the Guerrero threads in 2017, every OTA thread since 2018, every thread that has dealt with a rumor of him leaving or selling his house, and now this thread will show you. But that shouldn't come as a surprise. A lot of people, in general, are mouth-breathing idiots. What shouldn't that apply to this fan base as well? But nice attempt at a straw man there, bud.
Talk about a straw man. This entire exchange originated because you, being the argumentative and righteous dbag that you are, took a very obvious joke that I made about passionate/loyal fans driving somebody out of NE, and turned it into some stance that I’m anti-Brady and not rooting for him in Tampa. I very clearly explained that I’m not part of the contingent that holds ill-will towards Brady but yet here you are with your straw man, thinking you made some point against me.

I simply said that anybody who has a differing opinion on Brady’s departure isn’t any less of a “loyal” fan than you are. That went specifically for the comments I’ve seen in this thread and can’t comment on any “prima donna” comments that you’re now referencing. If those comments were made, I’d say they were unwarranted and would have called it out as such if I read them first-hand. If people disagree with him skipping OTAs or commented on the alleged friction between Tom/BB on Alex’s role on training/rehab for other players, no, I don’t think that’s bashing or not having “loyalty to Tom.” Some folks are more about the laundry and are quicker to side with the team, others are more about the individual players than the laundry, and others sit close to the middle.

Since you like to take what I say way out of context and literally do what you accused me of doing with the strawman, let the record show that I am rooting for Tom in Tampa. In an ideal world, Pats have a learning curve/rebuilding year while still competing, Tom excels in Tampa wins a ring, and next offseason Pats reload and are back in contention in 2021/2022. Everybody wins and both Tom's and Bill's legacy are better for it. Don’t misconstrue me calling you a righteous dbag for alienating anybody who doesn’t agree with you on the way Tom’s departure unfolded as me being anti-Brady.

11-5 when he was the QB. Also JG/Jacoby were 3-1 when Brady was suspended.

So Brady’s absence clearly doesn’t mean this team is guaranteed to be falling off a cliff. BB will make sure of that.
Remember BOTH of those squads were absolutely stacked. Especially that ‘08 team. Also, technically Cassel only went 10-5, lost to every playoff team & assisted in a 12 PPG decrease. Brissett was terrible (statistically: see BUF game). Use context bruh.
Brady was 10-6 the year after that.

Still shows that with Belichick this team isn’t falling off a cliff even without Brady. Same thing when people were predicting 0-4 when Brady was suspended.
Brady was fresh off of an ACL/MCL injury...then won MVP (unanimously) the very next season.

Brady and Gronk are GONE! Get over it!

This is hilarious. Dumpster fire gonna be good down there. Gronk slowed down his last season, has been out and this comeback will be awkward at best.

Dont matter.

He is so big that nobody can cover him when Brady throws the ball up where Gronk can get it.

Brissett’s thumb was about to fall off.

I wish Brady and gronkowski the best of luck next season.

we need bb, the GM, to step up his game and bring in a half dozen talented rookies.

Yes, we need 6 additions. However, they could be trades for veterans, or free agent pickups. I see us trading for a TE and a LB. Bill often trades for linebackers.

I have had some time to think about Brady and Gronk leaving and I think they will both learn a lesson when their careers are over. Most of us have worked for a boss or played for a coach that were tough and demanding. However, after leaving for another job or played for another coach, had time to reflect on the experience, realized the tough boss/coach had a very big impact on your career.

Tom & Gronk have never played for another coach or organization. BB is the hardest worker in the room and will push his players to the limit. Gronk had enough of the Belichick way after the 2018 Super Bowl. By all accounts he had a strained relationship with Bellichick in 2018 and it was confirmed when he said that it wasn't fun playing for BB. I think Brady realizes that his best chance to win a super bowl is with BB but after 20 years and frustration with the receiver situation, he thought it was best to move on to another team.

I have no idea how much success that Gronk & Brady will have playing for Arians. However,IMO they will look back when their careers are over and realize they were very lucky to play for Bill Belichick.
