Eh, people definitely overrate a coach’s importance overall, but you’re not giving him enough credit. They needed his defenses to win some of those Super Bowls, too. That said, let’s not forget that the guy does not have a winning record without Brady as a HC. Those who seem to think that tough days aren’t ahead just because BB is here a very likely in for a bit of a rude awakening in 2020.

Edelman still follows Brady on Instagram. I looked myself. Its not true. He also still follows Gronk.

Arians is a pretty good coach, but can we talk about how his offensive system has not been good to tight ends? I watched a few TB games last year and remember OJ Howard being open on several occasions but not getting the ball. Almost like he was being ignored. I would blame most of that on Winston, but Arians went out of his way to throw Howard under the bus in press conferences.

The Bucs can’t afford Edelman unless they dump salary first. They historically have not backloaded contracts, which would seem to rule out restructures unless there’s a major philosophical change there.

I don’t know why Tampa doesn’t try hard to get Edelman. They have one maybe two years to win this. This may be their one shot in a long time.

I think it's more that the Patriots had no real leverage. If Gronk had simply signed papers to unretire, the team would have had to absorb a $12m cap hit and TB knew that.

Watched a lot of Bucs games, and friend is a Bucs fan. Howard is lacking something upstairs. He ran the wrong route on numerous occassions last year, and in previous seasons. I have a hard time seeing him pick up the playbook here.

Love the talent, and I would still give Howard a chance here for the right price, but that coupled with free agency in a year, and his value just isn't as high as many want to think.
