Gronk trade completed

My thoughts; Gronk and Brady couldn't stomach another year with BB.

BB will trade that 4th round pick for an 8th round pick so he can grab a value receiver that will be off the team in a year.

Tampa is going to score about 35 points a game, and Brady will put up huge numbers and will be in the running for MVP.

I absolutely hope Brady does well next year so people will shut up about him being a system QB...this trade, however, puts them in the driver's seat for the NFC South division I think and perhaps a 1 seed or 2 seed.

Imagine if the 2020 season gets canceled!!

Fark both of them. I hope they get busted for PEDs :p;)

LMAOOOOO so he just didn’t want to play for Belichick anymore. That’s fine. It was either take what we can get for him and trade him or keep him on the reserve/retired list and get nothing. At least in this case they got something. If the Pats don’t win it next year, and they likely won’t, I hope the Bucs go all the way. Them vs the Chiefs would make for a pinball game-like Super Bowl.

BB needs a solid draft this year. We have 12 pix. Probably will be doing a little bit of dealing.

Who cares how they feel about BB.

When you have players completely leveraged under contract, you probably don't have to.

When you give one an out and another basically won't play another down unless its on his terms, you sorta open yourself to "caring" about it. No?

My first reaction is it makes me sad to see Gronk play for another team in the same way it will make me sad to see Brady play for another team.

However, up until about a half hour ago I viewed Gronk as a retired player that would have no effect on the Patriots this year. So comparing my opinion from then to now, it seems like the Pats got a 4th for a 7th.

With Brady leaving and being stuck inside I'm probably as excited about this years draft as I have ever been for a draft. Adding a fourth increase that excitement.

I expect a lot more turnover, the Pats still have almost no cap space I expect them to try and rectify that during the draft.

A 4th and we lost a 7th?

Are you f*cking kidding me?
They probably offered a 5th, the Pats probably said give us a 4th, and then they met in the middle.

Why are people complaining about getting a decent pick for a tight end coming out of retirement? You weren’t going to do any better.

Now we get to see what contract he gets. This blows .
They should have held out for better package. What is the rush on this deal ? Wait until they and Gronkowski get more desperate..?
If they did not move fast Gronk could come out of retirement and we would have to either cut him immediately or take on his 9 million in cap space. To do that we would have to cut some players since we are like 1.8 million under the cap. I know it sucks but we were not in a position of power
Edit: 1.1 million in cap space. Plus we need to sign the draft picks

The fact that we couldn't even get Howard, who was on the trade block, is just mindblowing.

We need a 2003 draft where we hit on almost all of our picks.

I am amazed that people are upset at the return. We truly had zero leverage here. To get a 4th is a da** miracle.

Where does a decade of Bill come from?

He's 68. He'll probably coach another 7 years at absolute max and likely not even that. I'd set the over/under at five years.

Brady is now talking about playing well past three years.

2-yard pass specialist? Are you Max Kellerman?
Bill surrounded him with talented 2 yd pass / between the hashes options galore.... RBs, slot midgets, TEs.
Bill provided him with piles of crap in the WR dept for the better part of a decade
Why was that?
What is Bill’s philosophy regarding putting a player in a position to succeed?

Drew Brees is gonna like that

The only thing I'm upset about is I don't trust Bill to get any value out of a 4th round pick. I was pretty much rooting for a player because I have no faith in Bill as a GM. Thats rough lol
