THIS IS AN ABOMINATION. Really it is time for Kraft to go.

This is as idiotic a post as I've seen here. Tell me, when did Belichick name Stidham the starter? Are you that stupid enough to go buy a jersey of someone who may or may not be the starting QB of the team? If he's the starter, by all means go ahead and buy his jersey, but until then it's a waste in my view. My point was - why waste $150 bucks on a jersey of someone who may end up getting cut? Is that how you make your real life financial decisions?

And BTW, I was a fan of the team before Brady. Also, you may want to update your screenname. We're already at 6 going on to 7.

You made a post claiming that because one cannot buy a Stidham jersey on the Pats' shop, clearly Stidham isn't any good and the team does not see him as a potential solution at QB.

When another poster sensibly suggested that Belichick and his evaluations of talent likely exist independent of jersey sales, you doubled-down and said the Pats' shop would never sell the jersey of a scrub - as if the folks running the Pats' shop know with certainty that Stidham is never going to be any good and is forever a scrub.

Fast forward an hour later, and you're calling another poster stupid and idiotic.

I can't fathom how much effort it takes to be this much of a narrow-minded jerk. And then to question another poster's financial decision making? Jeeze, man.

Maybe wait a week until the draft passes. They could very well draft a QB in the 1st or 2nd depending on how things play out.
Stid will beat out any QB the Pats could realistically draft bet on it

Count me on the side of people who hate them. A new crappy uniform for a new crappy team. Those stripes don't work. They should have just gone with a white helmet and the old reds.

The guy came after me, so there’s no need to defend him. i never said Stidham was a scrub per se. i have been on record stating nothing but good things about him. i made the point the Pats were not going to sell brand new color rush Stidham jerseys yet unless they are confident he is the starter. And typically the team is not going to mass produce jerseys of a someone that may end up being a JAG. Right now, they have Edelman, Hightower, etc. color rush jerseys for sale - in other words, star players.

NFL: You need to make new unis every so often so the fans keep buying more
Nike: Say no more, fam.

I dunno. Maybe I am a crabby old man, but I am done shilling out $80-150 or more for a jersey. I'll buy sweatshirts n chit, but I think I am all set on buying the latest jersey because I am supposed to.
I'm with you I only buy a jersey every 5+ years since the fake ones without the patch went above 100 bucks. I like one for game day. I bought one or two since but I've actually been wearing my Brady throwback that I bought in 09 the last 5 years or so to games.

I think I'll go with that for one more year cause I don't want to just dump TB but I will buy a new one at some point in the next year or so. Maybe I'll like whatever they do for alternates better than these.

I mean, these uniforms are fine but they're like totally devoid of anything approaching creativity. They're just lazy and corporate-feeling, it just feels like the sort of tweak you make to force everyone to buy a new jersey from the Pro Shop to get those sweet merchandise dollars. There have been a million mockups made by fans that look much better and more interesting than this.

Just buy them direct from the factory in China and save yourself the pure markup rent that the NFL collects on its license.

This reminds me of when Parcells arrived and the many changes that took place, including the change in uniforms and logo; to 'leave the past in the past' which was loosing, and initiate a new era for the franchise, that of winning. And clearly, there is now a real distinction between the Elvis era and the Pat Patriot era.

Maybe it's just coincidence, but the change in uniforms seems to suggest a similar narrative. 'Leave the past in the past'. A new era is upon us! A 'Brady-less' era. The former uniforms (which by the way I prefer) are, to use BB recent parlance, 'water under the bridge'.

It's been often stated that nothing gets done without BB's stamp of approval. And I think this reflects BB's effort to reinforce and impose the message that this is a 'new day' for the franchise, and to further put TB in the rear-view mirror going forward with new uniforms that embellish the new look Patriots.

This could be but one of the many changes to come that will epitomize this new era.

Perfect. This is not hard. This is an easy fix Pats.
Fortunately, pants can be changed at any time without the five year wait.

Would have preferred white pants with the blue home uniform, or silver pants. But I love the Color Rush Jersey and the white one is excellent. No stupid piping, no gaudiness like the shoulder Elvis or red shadow numbering from those God awful 90's jerseys.

If they do a red alternate to go with the blue pants, that would be really cool. Hope it's in the cards for next season with the helmet rule change.

I doubt we take a QB high in the draft

If they start selling the new Nike Stidham color rush unis, I think it's a good indicator (but not definitive obviously) that he'll be the starter. They are selling the cheap pro-line crap Stidham jerseys right now. In any event, I'd wait before dropping $150 on a Stidham jersey.
