LOOK: Patriots Unveil New Uniform

Now that I've calmed down a bit (it doesn't help that this was the first thing I saw after a nightmare about my ex gf), I think I could get used to these. There are other uniforms around the league sporting a monochrome look and I never really hated much on those. Sure, I definitely prefer when the Saints wear gold pants at home, but it's not a huge deal I guess.

I consider the road uniforms a huge upgrade, and the font updates are great too. Would classify this as a lateral move at worst.

why didn't they just leave the f--- uniform alone. teams that win 6 don't change their uniform.

Shoulder stripe should be silver and blue

We are getting red alternates :)

Why the hell didn't they do this sooner? Or did I just miss this because I don't do the team apparel thing much?

Nothing against the blue but I'm a sentimentalist, always got fired up seeing red jerseys way back when

Years ago I was at a game where they paraded out the existing Pat Patriot and new Flying Elvis logos and asked for the fans' vote. Pat Patriot got loud cheers and Flying Elvis got loud boos. Then they waited a year, or so, and changed over to the Flying Elvis logo anyway, without any more fan votes. So my attitude to new uni colors and themes is "Meh". It's just merchandizing and a money grab. They don't really care what we think, particularly since we don't back up our wishes with our purchasing power.

Should have an option for white helmets.

Home jerseys should have a white pants option, too.

Could do without the red shoulder stripe on both the home/away; maybe two navy stripes on the outside with one white stripe in between? At the end of the day, though, the red stripes aren't a huge deal - they're growing on me since I first saw them.

Am I missing something... aren't these are just the last two season's "color rush" jersey with a white version added?

With the dark blue numbers and dark blue pants, the home uni looks a lot like the Bears.

No, but proshop isn't going to sell the jersey of a scrub. If they felt that confident in Stidham, Krafty Bob is going to sell as many jerseys as he can.

Apparently those of us who loved the Patriots before Brady and want Stidham to succeed because that means that the T-E-A-M will succeed this year and for years to come are going to have to continue to suffer through idiotic posts like this from butt-hurt Brady worshipers. Isn't there a "I still can't believe Tommy is gone" support group on Reddit?

Pro shop jerseys are for their established stars and for first round draft picks, especially skill position players on offense....the goal is revenue. Those who think that this reflects how BB and the rest of the coaches view Stidham are just projecting.

Oh well, whites aren't too bad.

The changement arrived when Orthwein bought the team

He had no interest to stay in New England but going to Stl

Sad...

I am not so sure that Kraft would have changed it

Would've much preferred white on white, and the stripe inverted (blue on the outside, red on the inside).

Nothing gets by you, does it.....

I need some help. I am about to buy a jersey. Should I select:

Dmac:
Last time I bought a Dmac jersey and wore it, we lost every game I wore it

Slater:
Slater is a safe pick

White:
I already have a white jersey

Gilmore:
I'm afraid they might trade him

Hightower:
Im afraid they might trade him

This is as idiotic a post as I've seen here. Tell me, when did Belichick name Stidham the starter? Are you that stupid enough to go buy a jersey of someone who may or may not be the starting QB of the team? If he's the starter, by all means go ahead and buy his jersey, but until then it's a waste in my view. My point was - why waste $150 bucks on a jersey of someone who may end up getting cut or traded? Is that how you make your real life financial decisions?

And BTW, I was a fan of the team before Brady. Also, you may want to update your screenname. We're already at 6 going on to 7.

Absolutely love these uniforms. I really love the all blue. I agree with others that the helmet takes away from it. All white helmet would be a much cleaner look. Overall, can’t wait to buy one!

I like the numbers and the lettering font better, but I am not a fan of the stripes or the removal of the silver on the home unis.

Shoulder stripe should be silver and blue

My initial thoughts were along these lines too; I was thinking two navy stripes bordering a single interior white stripe, but the red has grown on me over the past few minutes.

Look, there are changes (some subtle, some not-so-subtle) that I would make if I was in charge, but ultimately the jerseys look pretty good and are definitely an aesthetic upgrade IMHO.

If we can phase out the grey helmet, get more solid white involved throughout the uniform, and have both jumpsuit *and* non-jumpsuit options (i.e white pants for the home jerseys and away jerseys) to mix and match (so 4 total combos - home: navy/navy, navy/white; away: white/navy, white/white -- then I'll be a happy guy (noting that the jumpsuit options should be used sparingly; they're nice on occasion but most of the time tops/pants shouldn't match IMHO).

You can not please everyone and I am glad the Patriots didn't! I love these unis, especially the blue.

Some people can't handle change. All those griping about them will get use to them.

What's the over/under on number of years fans start clamoring for "dynasty era" uniforms?

I give it 3 years.

The Bills went into their playoff drought as soon as they adopted unis that look exactly like the new home blues.

NFL: You need to make new unis every so often so the fans keep buying more
Nike: Say no more, fam.

I dunno. Maybe I am a crabby old man, but I am done shilling out $80-150 or more for a jersey. I'll buy sweatshirts n chit, but I think I am all set on buying the latest jersey because I am supposed to.
