Brady gone

As I've been telling everyone I know since they announced his last Patriots contract. You don't sign a contract like that unless you want out.

Still doesn't make me happy about it.

Where is that NFLN report? Has anyone in here seen it? I can't take Bayless at his word, but would be very interested in reading the actual report to which he refers.

So many on this site have been so quick to throw BB under the bus as an evil know nothing.
It is not TB12 who is under appreciated...it is BB
Time will tell on that.

I find this report highly unlikely unless it was made after Brady had already told Tampa hew as signing the deal and the Pats knew he would not take it. If the Pats really wanted Brady back they needed to sign one of the top available TEs and WRs at the beginning of free agency.

Of course he chose it.

Warm weather, natural grass, wife in bikini.,

Plus brady in the NFC... plays brees 2 times and Rodgers once, maybe jimmyG if they make playoffs.. much better .matchups.

Too little, too late...
Tom's departure from the Patriots was as unceremonious as the home opener his first year.

Sunday, September 3, 2000 - New England Patriots vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers Fan Gameday Report for BuccaneersFan

It ended with miserable home losses to the Dolphins, losing the bye, and the Titans, squandering several scoring opportunities.

In between, of course is historic.

Two other local stars had unceremonious ends to their Boston careers.

May 19th, 1974 was a sad, crushing day for the Boston Bruins, getting eliminated in Philadelphia after an otherwise glorious season where they finished atop the standings and dominated league scoring, led by deserving MVP Phil Esposito who came back from a serious knee injury in the '73 playoffs against the Rangers. But little did fans know it would signal the end of many things.

It was the last Stanley Cup finals game for Bobby Orr and Phil Esposito as Bruins.

And the last game played by the team in its by far best uniforms. Five months later they opened the 1974-75 season in Buffalo with the top half of their jerseys inexplicably cut off. They looked and played like a ramshackle pickup league outfit in a blowout loss.

Eleven months after the May 19th loss, in their very next playoff game, Orr and Esposito had their last postseason victory as Bruins. Three days later they played their last game together as Bruins, losing to the same Black Hawks team they'd routed before, also at the Garden.

Seven months after that, Phil played his last game as a Bruin, a miserable shutout loss at Buffalo on November 5th, before being traded. Bobby played his first game that season three days later, and his last game as a Bruin on 11/26, scoring a goal and an assist in a win over the Rangers at Madison Square Garden (Phil did not play). After getting back to Boston, he got out of his car and felt a very wrong twinge in his knee.

I believe there is a real possibility that Tom Brady will return to the Patriots, possibly after his two year contract is completed in Tampa. I think it would be as a backup - whom Belichick will be happy to play. A lot. And we'd be happy to see. And would likely lead the team to victory.

Ya let’s see BB when he doesn’t have the GOAT player at the goat position

I guess we take Skips word seriously on when it benefits our agenda huh

Ya the goat position is not a goat anymore .. more like a grunt which is 43 year old getting up after getting pancaked by 24 year old DL who weighs 295 solid muscle. .. not pretty but could happen you just don't know ... So ya gotta play the percentages after 20 years of greatness.

Just checking . Is that ok with you..:(?

I believe Brady wanted to leave too. Tampa Bay just about confirmed Brady was looking for a new team, and I’m sure Yee was responsible for all the leaks about SF and Tenn. And when Bob said a few months ago they wanted Brady to stay but only if he wanted to, that sealed it. They knew he was gone.
Hell Brady even said he assumed he was done after last season, so I’m not sure why people think Bill could have done something about it.

Time will tell on that.

???

Time will tell?

In 10 years, folks will still be arguing as they are about Welker and so many others in BB/Brady era. Heck, folks still argue about Parcells, Bledsoe and Martin.

As an aside, what happens next year won't give us much of an answer to the Bellichick or Brady question. ESPN show a Vikings Packers game from 2009 the other night. It was in October of that year and Farves' first chance to play against the Packers and Aaron Rodgers. Farve was great in that game and beat the Packers. In fact he outplayed Rodgers all season and took the Vikes all the way to the NFCCG, while the Pack was one and done in the playoffs.

After that year there was a lot of talk about the Packers making a mistake getting rid of Farve too soon. Looking back a decade later, clearly they did the right thing despite Farve's All pro 2009 season.

Just a thought.

With no fan attendance this year (which I assume) I put TB over NO in the NFC. NO is a different team at home with those fans so not having fans will effect there record

BB is clearly fired up for the post-Brady era.

"Over the last two decades everything we did, every single decision we made, in terms of major planning, was made, you know, with the idea of how to make things best for Tom Brady."

Forget about the curveball, Billy. Give 'em The Heater.

Love it.

Brady left because Bill wouldn’t give him a multi year deal the last few years. He won an MVP, took them to a SB, and then won a SB, and still couldn’t get a multi year deal from Bill who only wanted to go year to year. Bill wouldn’t commit to him beyond 1 year, and that is the reason Brady is a Buc right now.

I agree. The no fans is a huge disadvantage for the dome teams and also teams like KC and Denver who always have rabid fans.

Even IF the same offer was there.... it’s good. We’ve moved on. New era. Thank you, Brady, for your intensity and the wins !

Tom wanted a new challenge and away from BB. that’s all there is to it.

Please...Of course there was something - somethingS, to be precise - that Bill could've done about it...
