Brady admits he wouldn't throw to receivers he didn't trust

You are right as long as the receiver got on the same page right away and yes he is the GOAT, but how do you know the receiver you are drafting is going to be the right one. Harry was rated very highly and taken in the first round. The injury didn't help, but when he was back well he just didn't seem to fit in.

The question is would he have even if he weren't injured we'll never know, but that is what made it hard to draft receivers. Some worked, but others didn't how do you determine who will.

I guess you ask all those other teams who hit on every wide receive they draft... oh wait...

As others have pointed out, lets produce a list of good players Brady refused to throw to? Lets have it. I'm not talking about a game or a Chris Hogan for the end of his tenure. That guy caught many Brady TDs in big games. News flash, your list will be empty. Great players don't accept guys who come in unprepared or repeat the same mistakes.

Tom Brady admits he wouldn't throw to some receivers he didn't trust

This disappoints me a little because though he said Bill agreed with him, what could he have done as a coach. Put in a receiver he thinks will help the team, but Brady won't even look at him or put in lesser receivers Brady would at least look at.

That to me definitely puts the teams failure last year a lot on Brady's shoulders. Not all, but if you aren't using all your tools then you are less likely to succeed.
This simply reinforces that Tom needs guys who are ready to go, at 43 you don't have time to babysit anymore. Also our receivers need a QB that grows with them, Stidham is more of that guy than Tom.

Chad Johnson.

Let's say I'm not saying you're wrong, but I don't see how there was a way forward for the Patriots with Brady. I don't think anyone wanted to see him leave, but what was the way forward. Can't be draftees you just said and with their CAP problems how do they get any good receivers to go forward unless they all take super low contracts.

Patriots offense is based on reads and timing. Has probably been one of the most consistently successful offenses in the history of the league and has scored over 400 points every season since 2006. (Bills last did it in 1998, Dolphins 1986 and Jets in 2008 - only time since 1998) Brady needs his pass catchers to be where they are supposed to be. He does not drop back and watch them run their routes and throw it to them when he sees them open - he reads the defense, drops back then goes through his progressions. If Harry or Myers are not where they are supposed to be what do you expect him to do? Not wanting players on the field that do not know their assignments is exactly what his position should be. If the argument is they need to change their offense to a simpler one then the coaches need to make the change. That is not on Brady.

I said it before Harry and Meyers are the happiest Tom left followed by their respected agents

I’ll say people in the organizations of Miami, Buffalo, and NYJ are the happiest Tom left not a WR that can’t get separation or a pre season all American.

What are you talking about? He had no problem throwing to new receivers if they were on the same page. Branch, Givens, Edelman, Mitchell, Cooks, Gronk, Hernandez, Welker, Moss... Him not throwing to guys who couldn’t get be in the right spot and on the same page helped him become the GOAT and helped the team win 6 SBs. What would you rather have, Tom throwing more picks which result in more losses?
Maybe If was at OTAs those guys would of been more in sync with him.

This guy can’t get open or be where he needs to be when the ball is thrown, let’s target him and put him in the game. Imagine thinking like that, if the WR can’t be trusted he can’t play it’s that simple no matter how good he and the back QB looked vs XFL players in preseason.

OTA haha where champions are made huh, embarrassing that some of you think these meaningless practices mean anything at all

Troll.

The offense is predicated on receivers seeing the field the same way as the QB. If Tom doesn’t trust you to be in that spot, he’s not going to risk an errant throw to the defense, throw in tight coverage, etc...

At a certain point, you have to move on. Especially if opposing defenses catch on to the mistrust

You’re joking right? They have 4 weeks of training camp and multiple practices to get on the same page. Name one receiver who Brady shunned to go on to have a successful career.

Apparently OTA is more important than TC and actually practices, it’s actually hilarious when you think about it. Also Brady not connecting with Meyers/Harry is somehow on him when one couldn’t get separation since HS and the other was a pre season all American. Can’t make this stuff up

Lots of them.
And how does that work out for them? I'd say the 6x SB winning GOAT has the credentials to say "don't throw to a receiver who you cant trust".
