Why do you assume we would have taken Matthews with the pick?

Didn’t assume anything. Just stated he was on the board and we allowed GB to trade up to grab him. Just because we may or may not have taken him doesn’t take away that there was an elite player available and we passed to select a few jags. And we weren’t the only team who screwed up as Clay shouldn’t have been available in the first place.

I don't think Matthews was ever elite, at least in the way Belichick requires DE/OLB to be. Just not that big of a missed opportunity imo. Sure, we could have used him better than a guy who's dead now (RIP Ron Brace) but to me it's lamenting missing out on a good but not great player over a decade later.

A player who has been overrated his entire career and has been undeniably on the decline for a while now...no thanks.
If he could be had on the cheap, I’d be all over it. Matthews had a solid year last year and only and missed about a months worth of games due to breaking his jaw. 9 TFL, 8 sacks, a few forced fumbles. Would be worth bringing into the fold and see what he still has.

Free agent QB coming?
Did Bortles sign anywhere yet?
Or are we planning on drafting a QB or just go with 2?

It would be nice if we could extend/trade Thuney ASAP so we can get something else done in FA. With Kessler gone, I wonder if we plan on kicking the tires on Newton or Winston to compete against Stidham in camp.

If you posted astrophysics I'd understand far more than the above as I don't follow college ball

That's ok.. Stone doesn't know college ball either.. He just regurgitates crap he things will stick to the walls.

I’d much rather fix the receiver tight end and linebacker holes

Kessler is irrelevant to all of that. He just is useless. His is not even good enough to be a 4th arm for training camp.

Johnny Foxboro camp signing
BB finally gets his wish

I agree. Just not a lot of exciting options.

Maybe kick the tires on a one year deal for Delanie Walker? I wouldn’t hate Taylor Gabriel on cheap deal.

Yup. After all, we only have about 3 or 4 months of free agency left until training camp.

Time to re-sign Ferentz.

Both unheralded but solid minimum cap moves

Well that's it for me with you too, *******...Welcome to my Ignore list.

I don't get what the big deal is about holding the draft. Schefter is like, "You can't hold a draft while all these people are dying."

Um, the NFL is entertainment. People need distractions. This pandemic has touched much closer to my home than I ever wanted, I've lost people. But this is stupid. Of course I've watched TV. Football is not that sacred or important to treat it like anything but entertainment.

Hell, I watched a few gory movies right after my father died. It was cathartic.
